"I'll get it!"

The mail had just arrived and of course Mr Piranha was just dying to be the first one to see it.

"I seriously doubt that any of the letters have your name on it."

"It doesn't hurt to check."

Webs rolled her eyes and went back to typing away on her computer. Piranha checked the mailbox by the door and found one lone letter, sitting inside.

"From Diane?"

It had a been a while since they had heard from Diane in a while. She seemed to be more close with the bad guys ever since they turned good, especially Mr Wolf.

"Dear Bad Guys, blah blah blah I would appreciate...blah blah blah..."

Piranha continued to skim the letter until something caught his eye.

A slither could be heard, scaling across the floor. Snake was adjusting his signature hat in the mirror while thinking to himself. "New life huh..." It was always the worst with him, but now he was going to be good. Could he even do it? Sure he had saved the city from that notorious pig, but deep down, nobody could ever really forget what he did in the past.

Snake was snapped out of his thoughts when a voice startled him.

"You okay?"

He turned around to find his best friend, Mr Wolf, lingering in the doorway.

"I'm fine. Just thinking."

"You want to talk about it?"

"..."

"No."

But he did. He wanted to talk to him about everything. Becoming an open book would have helped, but something just wanted him to keep putting it off. After all, the rest of his friends had found fulfillment in this new life of their's. He shouldn't be the one to ruin that.

"You sure? I can understand how hard this must be for you."

"I...I just-"

"HERMANOS! COME CHECK THIS OUT!!!"

Wolf and Snake came out of the room to find Piranha rushing through the door, waving a piece of paper in his hands.

"Something finally had your name on it?"

Piranha gave her an annoyed expression and held up the letter.

"No! Diane is inviting us to a party at the museum of fine arts!"

"Really?"

Shark had a more excited reaction, as did Piranha.

"We've never been invited to a party before! What's the occasion?"

"Diane says it's an accomplishment for all we've done for the city!"

"Oh boy! I'll get my suit!"

"Wait a minute. We aren't actually going are we?"

Wolf looks back at Snake and tries to reassure him.

"Why not? It sounds like an important honor and this could be a opportunity for us."

"For what? A reminder of what we did as criminals."

Snake said that last part with a slither in his tongue as he stared at the ground. The others turned to each other and said nothing.

"Don't you remember? We never could have stopped Marmalade if it wasn't for you."

"Yeah you outsmarted that pig like it was nothing!"

"And that look on his face when the meteor blew up!"

Piranha mimicked the explosion with his hands and did a dive off of the couch. Snake snickered a little and tried to think more on the positive side of things.

"I did enjoy foiling the pig."

"Come with us hermano! It won't be the same without you."

Snake sighed as his friends looked at him with puppy dog eyes.

"Fine I'll come. But stop doing that. It really gets on my nerves."

"Promise"

Shark gave a thumbs off and ran off to try on a suit for the party.

"Hey wait up!"

Piranha and webs went off to go find something to wear as well. That left Snake and Wolf alone. He couldn't bring himself to bring up anything that was bothering him so he just went back to the room.

"You coming Wolfie?"

Wolf nodded and went to get ready as well.

"God why do I go along with these things?" Snake said as he was adjusting a bow on his outfit. After everything that had happened: released from jail, moving into the apartment, becoming good, was a part really what they needed.

"I hope there's going to be cake!"

"Do you think we'll get a trophy?"

"That's up to Diane."

When Webs said that name, she got a bit of curiosity.

"Hey Wolfie?"

"Yeah?"

"How's things been going between you and Diane?"

"Oh. Uh..it's good. Why do you ask?"

Shark and Piranha got into the conversation as well as they wanted to tease the situation.

"Aren't you going to ask her out? You know, to a romantic dinner?"

Wolf stopped and blushed a little.

"Uh..no? We're just friends."

"Yeaahhh surrreee."

Snake came out to join them and raised an eyebrow on the uncomfortable situation.

"What's going on here?"

"Oh we were just asking Wolf when he was going to ask Diane out. You want in?"

"No."

He slithered up to him and said

"No rush Wolf."

Snake had took notice of Wolf and Diane's relationship from their last adventure. There always did seem to be something going on between them, and truth be told, it kind of did make Snake feel a little jealous.

That was the least of his problems right now. As they all head out to the car, all Snake could think about was surviving this night.
