Note; I know that the Pokemon book still isn't finished, but this book and that one will both continue at the same time. This one is just for if I feel like typing a book, but don't want to continue the Pokemon one. Anyways, enjoy!~

I stare down at this headgear-like object that sits in my lap, debating whether I should put it on or not. I bought this thing as soon as it came out, which was like a year ago, but still haven't even used it. This is what is known as a Fantasy Reality Changer, or an FRC. I've been too frightened to use it, due to the fact that I've heard of people putting it on and then never coming back, but those are just rumors.... right? I grab a piece of paper and a pen and right down, "If I haven't come back from this device after 10 hours, (now being 10 AM) do not attempt to pull it off. Only I can make it stop functioning, otherwise my brain will no longer function. I will just have to be fed and be given water regularly, bathed, etc. Also, if this does happen, I would just like to say, I love you all." There we go. I put the paper on my desk and lay down on my bed. Well, here goes nothing, I guess. I slip the headgear on and mutter, "Stabilize connection." As soon as I finish that statement, my mind is taken out of my body and warped elsewhere. I appear in a realm of nothingness, when suddenly a holographic menu appears before me. Oh, right, a characterization screen. Forgot that you made your own avatar. I set the name to "Lucas", and give myself blonde hair. Skin type; pale. Height; 5'7. Weight; 135 pounds. Gender; Male. As soon as all of that is done, a character type screen appears. There are three choices; Civilian, Warrior, or Beast. I think of my choices, remembering that once chosen, you can't go back. So I choose warrior and sub-classes appear. Brawler , Swordsman, Magician, Shapeshifter, Destroyer, Sniper, or Ninja. I decide on Swordsman and once clicked, a screen appears, showing my armor and weapons. They're all default, of course. Light iron armor, thin iron sword. They're quite shabby, in all honesty. I click a floating button that says OK, and am once again warped. I appear in a towns hall, armor equipped, sword sheathed, standing in the middle of a large dome. I see an exit and head towards there, but am stopped at the front desk. Oh, right, I need to register myself. I register my character on the machine, and then head out into the starter city. There's people scattered everywhere, large towering buildings, the normal kind of thing for an MMO. I automatically head for an armory and weapons shop to see what I'll eventually be able to buy. I scan the walls and eventually find swords, looking through them all. Sheesh! The minimum price is 18,000 sakins?! Oh, right, forgot to explain. Sakins are the currency of this world. You get about 200 sakins per regular monster around the starter city, and 1,400 sakins for a starter boss. If this is the amount for swords though.... how much is it for a full set of armor?! I wander over to the armor and gape at the price. 56,000 sakins?! And to think we beginners start out with only 1,000 sakins! This is gonna take awhile.... Well, time to get hunting, I guess.... I head out of the shop and to the edge of town. Right when I'm about to leave, a woman who is leaning against the wall of the gate stops me. "Hey, you really think you're about to go out there alone at your level? Honestly, you should have at least one other person with you." she says to me. "So what if I am? Not like I came here with anyone, so I have no clue who any of the other players are." I reply. It's right when I say that when I remember a promise I made to one of my good friends. I had promised I would wait for her to get the device so we could join together, but I went and forgot! Crap! Well, that's not going to be something to look forward to once I log out. Great. "Well, lucky you I just happen to need someone to travel with so that I can earn some experience. I'll go with you." she tells me. Oh, yeah, lucky me, getting to travel into the middle of no where with a sassy bleep. Oh, right, profanity filters. Don't know why that's a thing when this is a game for the older audiences. "Fine, whatever, do what you want." I answer to her rather "lovely" news. I exit the gates, walking into the woods where there should be plenty of enemies to kill. Not long after our entry, a horde of level 1 monsters appear before us. I unsheathe my sword and slice at them. When I look at their health bars, my mouth drops. Their health hardly went down at all! Ugh, seems like I have to use my special skills to rid of them for now. I use my skill Flaming Strike, and each enemy I hit with it dies almost instantly. Amazing! But when I look behind me, I just see the woman standing there doing nothing. Really?! Does she have to be so useless at a time like this?! She notices my gaze and sighs, finally deciding to help me out. She holds her hand out and uses a spell called Aqua Tornado. Suddenly, as the name implies, a tornado of water appears and rids of about 16 monsters at once. Although impressive, there's still a lot of monsters left to kill. I rush forward, still using Flaming Strike, cutting through the monsters in my path, while the woman who came with continues using spells such as Aqua Tornado, Electric Spark, and Plant Frenzy. After about 12 minutes of all this going on, we finally have killed them all, however we are beyond exhausted. "L-let's go.... back to town...." I mutter. The woman with me nods and we both turn back the way we came. Once back in the city, she is kind enough to get food for the both of us to get rid of our exhaustion. "By the way, I still don't know your name. Mine is Lucas, yours?" I ask the woman curiously. "My name is Leona. You can refer to me as Leo." answers Leona. "Alright, Leo." I reply. After we're done eating, Leo decides to take me on a tour of the city. Afterwards, I realize it was almost 7 at night. "Oh, hey, I need to go. Sorry, Leo. Cya tomorrow." I tell her. "Goodbye, Lucas. But.... there's a 60% chance of you not being able to log out." she says. "Nah, don't worry, I'll be able to log out." I smile. I pull up the menu screen and click log out. I mutter, "Destabilize connection." I suddenly wake up back in my original body, and pull the FRC off my head. I get off my bed and exit my room, heading downstairs to the kitchen. My family is already sitting at the table, eating. I sit down with them and devour a rather large meal. We each talk about our days, and then went to bed. I sit on my bed, unable to sleep despite being tired beyond belief. Although the temptation, I decide not to put the FRC back on, for I know that I need sleep. But how are you supposed to go to sleep after going to an alternate reality? Oh well. Might as well try anyways. I decide to lay down and close my eyes. Luckily after a few minutes, I fall asleep.

Well, since this was the first chapter, it was a little short. The chapters will hopefully start to be at least be 2000 words starting next chapter. Anyways, there should be some more action in Chapter 2, maybe some new characters.
