summary
rhaerys targaryen was born as the youngest triplet with his older sisters, rhaena and baela, to his parents daemon targaryen and laena velaryon. rhaerys and baela took after their father, hot-headed and stubborn, while rhaena took after her mother, cool under pressure and calculated. it seemed as though everything was meant to be right in the world to the young triplets... until they learned about the failure of their mother's pregnancy and the actions that followed after.
years afterward, rhaerys could never quite find comfort. he was quite independent and believed he never needed anyone to take care of him. for a short time, before he became ward with baela at driftmark for their grandmother, he lived on dragonstone with his father, who had remarried to the heir of the iron throne, rhaenyra targaryen. while residing there, he had formed somewhat of a relationship with her sons, especially the eldest son, jacaerys velaryon.
