Kim Wonhu sat in her sleek, modern cabin, the soft hum of the air conditioner blending with the rhythmic tapping of keys. Her eyes were glued to the screen, where rows of data and complex algorithms danced before her. She was in her element, her mind a whirlwind of marketing strategies and innovative ideas. The knock on her door was an unwelcome intrusion, pulling her out of her focused trance.
“Come in!” she called out, her voice tinged with impatience. The door creaked open, and her secretary stepped in, her expression a mix of excitement and trepidation. “Ms. Kim, we’ve received an offer from the Carat Empire.”
Wonhu’s interest was immediately piqued. The Carat Empire was no ordinary conglomerate—it was a titan in the business world, known for its ruthless efficiency and unparalleled success. “Carat Empire? Do you have their information?” she asked, leaning forward.
The secretary nodded, placing a thick file on her desk. Wonhu’s fingers itched to open it, and she wasted no time in flipping through the pages. Her brow furrowed as she scanned the contents. “Choi Seungcheol? Why does that name sound familiar?”
“He’s one of the most renowned CEOs,” her secretary explained. “This year, he received an award for being a young yet highly successful CEO.”
Recognition dawned on Wonhu’s face. “Oh! Choi Seungcheol!” Her eyes widened in surprise. “How could I forget that rascal?” She chuckled, memories flooding back. “Let me tell you, Choi Seungcheol and I were at the same university. We were fierce academic rivals.”
She leaned back in her chair, a smirk playing on her lips as she gazed at Seungcheol’s photo attached to the file. “Seungcheol-ah has become even more handsome and adorable. Let’s see how he reacts when he realizes that Kim Wonhu, the Brilliant Market Strategist, is the one he disliked the most.”
A mischievous idea popped into her brain. Wonhu decided to play a little game. “I’ll send the email to Choi Empire personally. You leave now.” She dismissed her secretary with a wave of her hand.
As the door closed behind her, Wonhu stretched her long, slim fingers and began typing on her computer. The subject line of her email formed in her mind: “Re: Strategic Partnership Proposal.” But this email would be more than business—it would be a subtle challenge, a reminder of their past rivalry.
She accepted the offer from the Choi Empire, eager to see how Choi Seungcheol would react when he realized that the formidable Kim Wonhu was the recipient. Little did she know that this encounter would reignite old flames of competition and perhaps even spark something more. As the days unfolded, their paths would cross once again, and the battle of wits and ambition would resume—this time, not just in academics but in the complex world of business and emotions.
