William Molif, often known as Will, was a tall man with long blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail, emerald green eyes, and fair skin. He opened the front door and looked down, grabbing the newspaper that waited on his front steps. He didn't know why he was subscribed to the paper, but he was. Sighing, he took it inside, sat down and began to read.

Most of it was useless junk, stuff like a new mayor, a controversy with the police, and a murderer on the loose, and a job opening at the newly refurbished Fazbear's Jr's. Well, maybe that last one wasn't exactly useless. Will was a mechanic by trade, as well as a night owl. So, he was pleasantly surprised when he saw a nightshift repairman job offered by the aforementioned restaurant.

He smiled excitedly as he walked over to his phone and punched in the call number. Working at a Fazbear Entertainment restaurant had always been a dream of his, and he was about to make it a reality. After a brief conversation over the phone, Will had an interview scheduled for later that day. With a newfound pep in his step, Will walked away from his front door and got his shower ready.

---------

Whistling an upbeat tune, Will parked his car and entered the building. He'd been told to show up in work attire, so he was wearing an old gray T-shirt, a pair of jeans held up by a brown leather belt, and a brown pair of work boots. He stopped whistling as he entered the building, his emerald eyes scanning the lobby. Then, he saw her.

Jane Simmons, a woman of medium build, had red hair, brown eyes and pale skin.she was wearing a black business suit, with a purple tie around her neck. She was holding a clipboard and tapping her foot impatiently, like she was waiting for someone. Will walked up to her with a friendly smile on his face and began to introduce himself.

"William Molif, yes?" She interrupted before he could start. She didn't seem to be in the mood for pleasantries, simply leading Will away to the Parts and Service room. "Ordinarily, we'd ask some interview questions first, but we need someone willing to perform the same task over and over again. Do you think you can do that?"

Will, surprised, nodded slightly, following her into the Parts and Service room. Once they were in, the lights turned on and Will was met with an unexpected sight. A mangled animatronic lay in a heap on the floor, its endoskeleton almost entirely exposed and wires dangling from it. "What the hell happened?" He asked, surprised, as he took a step forward.

"This is what our staff members refer to as 'the mangle,' I'm sure you can tell why." With that she turned around and made her way for the door. "Your interview is getting her back in working order, just be sure to get out by closing time." And then the door closed, leaving Will alone in the room, surrounded by endoskeletons and spare parts.

He let out a sigh as he grabbed a toolbox and set to work. He couldn't find any blueprints, so he'd have to eyeball it. He started by fully dismantling the poor animatronic, before slowly setting it back up properly. All the while, he was either whistling or singing to the tune of Wellerman, though with his own spin on the lyrics.

"There once was a bot that got torn up, the boss lady told me to fix her up!" He sang as he worked. "After hours of grueling work, the poor thing's Skelly was whole!" He wiped sweat off his forehead, his T-shirt covered in oil. "Soon may the paycheck come, to bring me food and drink and such," he continued on, beginning to put the plastic casing back on 'the mangle.' "Oh, when the work day's done, I'll get to take a shower."

He heard a slow, mechanical clapping coming from the corner of the room when he finished, the only part of the room in constant shadows. He tried to get a closer look, but all he saw was two glowing white dots, roughly the same height of the eyes of an animatronic if it was sitting down. "Who's there?!" He called out, glancing away from the shadow to check his watch.

12:01 P.M.

The building was closed, he was undoubtedly locked in. Stuck, with whatever was in the corner. As his thoughts drew back to the figure, he looked up, only to see that it was gone. He looked around, his green eyes wide and his blonde hair flapping, as he held up his wrench like a weapon. He heard a quiet, slightly distorted laughter, and turned around to see four partially dismantled animatronics. Freddy, Foxy, Bonnie, and Chica.

Backing up in surprise, Will tripped on Mangle and fell to the ground, making a lot of noise. The half destroyed bunny animatronic's eyes activated, but since it had no faceplate, it was just two glowing red circles.

Will froze in place, hoping he wasn't noticed. To his surprise, though, the animatronic simply struggled to its feet before making its way out of the P&S room. Will was left watching, confused, as the door swung closed behind Bonnie.

So, deciding to see what was up, he followed the rabbit animatronic out of the room and into the rest of the restaurant. Stepping quietly, he watched as the bunny took a roundabout route to the security office. Will was being as careful as possible, hiding if Bonnie showed any signs of turning around.

Once they reached the office, however, Will was surprised. Bonnie went straight for the security guard, a man with brown hair and blue eyes. He quickly put on an old Freddy mask, staring at Bonnie in fear.  Eventually, the rabbit animatronic began to leave, before doubling back and standing in the middle of the office. The night watchmen had only just taken the mask off before slamming it back on, started.

Finally, Bonnie left for real, letting Will enter the office and greet the security guard. "Hey," he said nervously, looking around as his grip on the wrench tightened. The night guard was taken by surprise, dropping his mask to the ground. "Relax," Will said, surprised. "I'm not gonna kill you. I'm Will, by the way." He introduced himself, looking back over his shoulder.

The night guard was still nervous, so he did the only logical thing. He threw an empty cup at Will to make sure he was real. When the cup bounced off of Will and hit the floor, the night guard let out a sigh of relief. "I'm... I'm James," he said, before shining his flashlight in the vents on either side of the office.

He was pleasantly surprised when he didn't find anything. "Odd," he said eventually. "Mangle is normally waiting on the vents." He sighed, winding up the music box. "Doesn't matter. So long as she's not here, I know how to survive."

"The hell is going on here?" Will asked, his grip on his wrench tightening slightly. He didn't like the feeling he was getting from the empty pizzeria. It felt like he was constantly being watched. Like he wasn't safe.

"Oh! How rude of me!" James said. "I'm the night watch here, if it wasn't obvious." At his brief explanation, he shined his light in the vent again, revealing toy Bonnie. He quickly shut it off and looked at Will. "Get under the table," he said urgently, to which Will simply nodded and complied.

James put his mask on and, breathing heavily, waited for toy Bonnie to leave. Eventually, the blue plastic bunny got out of the left vent and entered the right one, allowing James to remove his mask. "You aren't supposed to be here," he said, stating the obvious.

"Clearly," Will replied, getting out from under the desk. "Now, what was that about?" He asked, pointing at the vent. His breath was heavy, his eyes were wide, and his clothes were dirty. He was confused, but more importantly, he was frightened.

James took a deep breath before explaining. "The uh... The animatronics get a little bit quirky at night?" He tried, hoping Will would leave it at that. He didn't. Disappointed, James let out a sigh before giving an actual explanation. The explanation he had been given. "They uh... Well, they have access to a criminal database, which they check when they scan your face. The problem is, they don't have a database for employees, so if you're here overnight, they think you're intruding. That, or they think you're an endoskeleton, which means you're breaking company policy by not being in a suit."

Will was horrified by the implications, as well as by how the company undoubtedly found out about this. He shuddered at just the thought. "The uh... The phone guy said that they provided an empty Freddy mask so I can trick the animatronics. It... It doesn't work on Foxy, though." Will let out a low whistle, surprised.

"How long have you been working here?" He asked quietly, fearing the response he'd get. He was surprised, though, when James told him it'd only been about a week, and that he was planning to quit that night. "Well, good luck," he said, before making his way to the exit and booking it to his car.
