Y/N
I woke up to the rays of sun coming from the window, blinding me. I sat up, taking in my surroundings. I'm not in my room, I'm in Draco's.
I'm in my best friend's bed.
Everything hurt, mainly my chest. I noticed the healing wound on my side, a thin sheet wrapped around the injury.
"Y/N?"
Draco stood at the doorway, his eyes filled with relief. "You're alright after all." He walked over to me, sitting down beside me.
I didn't feel as tired as I usually did, for once getting good sleep. "How long have I been asleep?" I asked him, rubbing my eyes.
Draco's eyes went to my hands, my fingers gripping on the bedsheet. "Sixteen hours," He answered finally, his hand inching closer to mine. "Do you remember what happened?"
I nodded. "I was outside and I ran into Harry. We started arguing, and I guess he was having a bad day because he keeps most of his anger controlled..."
"Having a 'bad day' was no excuse to hurt you," His eyes met mine with anger and annoyance flashing through.
"But being angry might be," I argued. "I don't know what made him... want me dead."
"Y/N, Potter would never want you dead, even I know that."
I stayed silent, thinking of a way to change the subject. A sudden question popped up in my head.
"How did you know the counter curse?"
"Sixth year," He answered simply. "I may have been bleeding out but I remembered what Snape had said to stop it."
"Right, you were in the hospital wing when I ran into Harry that day. I honestly thought Hermione had punched you again until he had told me what happened."
"Y/N, Granger packs a punch, and I was in third year!"
"So?"
"I hate you."I smiled.
"I hate you too."
Draco
Y/N had fallen asleep again half an hour later after she ate the food I had brought up. Since I didn't know much about healing, Granger and I just made due with what we had.
I was worried about her.
I hadn't left her side since Granger had helped me bring her up. I haven't slept either, or eaten anything. She didn't derserve that, she didn't do anything. Potter had hurt her for no reason at all.
Bloody Potter.
The Golden Boy hasn't shown his face since that night. I doubt Granger or Weasley has talked to him either. I needed to say something, to let them know Potter isn't always the perfect Chosen One they thought he was.
I looked back at my best friend's sleeping form. She looked so peaceful, calm. I hadn't seem her sleep this much since fourth year.
I leaned over her and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. What were we?
It had been a simple kiss we shared before Potter almost killed her. I had kissed her first. I wanted to kiss her first.
It was conflicting.
I have always liked Y/N, but it wasn't until Snatchers had brought her to the Manor that I realized how much.
