Is this a Reader X or a Y/N fic?

Neither. It's an OC fic. All that means is that Hanasaki is her own character, so it's not the type of fic where you can self-insert. If you don't like that, I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy a Reader X or a Y/N fic more, so go find one.

Wait, if she's her own character, how does she fit into the original plot?

Technically, it's not the original plot. Because we've taken Makima out of the picture, A.K.A. the main antagonist of Part 1, stuff is gonna branch from canon quite a bit once we get into the later arcs.

Basically, she has Makima's role. Not in the Control Devil way, but she literally just has Makima's position in Public Safety. That's it.

Why'd you remove Makima?

We had a hunch that writing an OC x Aki fic when he's under Makima's control would be a bit challenging. Also, he and more than half of the cast gets absolutely destroyed by her. Which is kind of a bummer.

But if Makima's gone, what happens in (insert bit where Makima does something here)?

Either someone else does it (or something similar), or it just doesn't happen. The same applies to characters that get introduced to the story because of Makima. So if some characters aren't in the fanfic, that's why. (Sorry if they happen to be your favourite or something.)

Hey, (insert fanfic event here) doesn't happen in canon!

That's because it's not canon. Hope this helps! (You probably won't have to say this one because not much happens off-canon. Not in the first few arcs, anyway.)

Also, who's 'we'?

I, the person who has the pleasure of writing all this, am not the owner of this account. My main is inseye. The person who does own this account is my co-writer, and who Hanasaki actually belongs to.

Some other stuff I think it's worth knowing:

The first few chapters are short. Like, really short. Have no fear, though, because they get longer the further you go, so Wattpad won't be crawling up your ass with an ad every 200 words.

As the arcs become more serious, the more the story diverges from canon.

Aki is around 20 in this fic, because every time I googled his age I was given a different answer. Hanasaki is 19 for clarification.

Due to school existing, chapters may or may not come on time. You probably won't have to wait for much more than a month for the next one to arrive. If we take more than two months, we're probably dead.
