Nigel was drunk, way more drunk than he meant to get.

He wobbles as he walks down the street, in what he hopes is the direction of his apartment.

As he passes an alleyway, he hears a crash, like something had fallen into a pile of trash. He debates going to investigate, which he eventually decides against.

Until he saw a body. It was pale and dainty, in seemingly only a nightgown. So naturally, he moves closer to get a better look.

As he steps closer, two gorgeous blue eyes look up at him fearfully as the person tries to scramble backwards but is met with the wall.

"Shhh...'s okay! 'm Nigel." He slurs his words, cursing internally for drinking with Darko that evening. The person was clearly hurt and disoriented, and he was too drunk to remember what road to turn down, let alone help someone.

The person furrow their brows as they try to understand, frowning in confusion and uncertainty. It takes a bit of gentle coaxing and reassurance from Nigel for the person to calm down enough for Nigel to help them to their feet.

"Mm? Got no shoes, doll?" Nigel observes. Where did this kid appear? It's like they just crashed out of thin air. He shakes the thought out of his head and does a wobbly quick glance over to make sure they're not injured.

The young man once again just silently furrows his brows, watching Nigel cautiously still.

Nigel manages to get home, bringing the stranger with him. The kid seemed confused and cold. What was he gonna do? Just leave him in the alley?

Even in his drunken state, Nigel gets him a glass of water and a blanket before he goes and clocks out on his own bed, leaving the young man on the couch.

When Nigel finally woke up the next afternoon, he's completely forgotten about the man, walking through to his kitchen and grabbing a cup of coffee to wake himself up.

It's only when he notices some brown curls and blue eyes gazing up at him wearily in his peripheral vision that he notices the man. Jumping and almost smashing his mug, head banging against the cupboards.

"Ah! Shit, fuck!" A series of curses fly from Nigels mouth as he runs the back of his head, furrowing his brows and looking the person up and down. "Jesus you scared me!"

The man, who Nigel decides to just name Bambi for the time being, due to his wide eyes, just furrows his brows, as if copying Nigels expression, observing him.

"Jeez... do you speak? Yknow, English?" Nigel sighs, his gaze turning to his coffee, which he stirs, before his gaze is back on the man.

Bambi just holds his hand out to Nigel, showing him cuts on his palm. There must've been glass where Nigel had found the young man, which probably caused the cuts.

Nigel carefully took Bambi's hand and looked at the cuts, making sure none of them were too severe, but he decided to just wrap it and hope for the best. He wasn't a doctor or nurse after all. So he does just that. He gets the first aid kit from his bathroom cupboard and sits Bambi down at the kitchen table, cleaning the cuts gently with a cotton swap and saline. Bambi winced and tried to pull his hand away, tears welling up, but Nigel held his wrist gently, stroking a circle with his thumb till it seemed the pain stop before continuing to clean. Each time he feels a flinch or Bambi pulling away, he stops and waits.

Eventually, he starts to patch the cuts up with bandaids, and he'd get more bandages later.

Bambi picked at the bandaids, intrigued, so Nigel put a couple on his own hand so Bambi could pick at them without peeling them off the cuts on his hand.

"You hungry?" As he puts the first aid equipment away, Nigel sends a small glance at the young man, who once again seemed confused by his words. Maybe the kid had a concussion or something?

Maybe he should just make him some food. Whether he speaks English or not, he's still going to be hungry. So he gets up and moves over to the hob, grabbing a pot and pouring in some pasta and water, turning it on to high heat, starting on a cheese sauce. Mac n cheese, it's quick, easy, and everyone likes it one way or another.

He adds some cooked bacon bits from the fridge to the sauce and pasta once it's made, splitting it onto two plates, setting one down in front of the young man, the other in front of himself as he sits down.

Bambi is confused for a moment but watches Nigel use his fork to eat, copying him clumsily. He decides to just take the fork in his fist instead of holding it properly as he eats. His eyes light up as he lets out a little happy squeak, shovelling more into his mouth, causing Nigel to laugh.

"Slow down, sweetheart.. you don't want heartburn."

The young man continues to eat like he'd never eaten before, but at a slower pace, no wanting whatever heartburn is.

Nigel watched the kid eat. What was he gonna do now? He's got a pretty cute dude sat at his kitchen table, who doesn't seem to understand English and is only wearing a nightgown - he's only wearing a nightgown.

He quickly gets up from the table and moves over to his bedroom, grabbing some boxers, shorts, and a sweater for the kid. How hadn't he noticed before? The guy must be freezing his nuts off! Nigel brings the clothes over to the young man, handing the clothes to him.

"Here, you can borrow some of my clothes. You must be freezing.."

Bambi just looks at the clothes, then up at Nigel with a confused look in his eyes. He doesn't know how to put on clothes? Nigel sighs and takes the sweater out from the ball of clothes.

"This is a sweater. It's warm. You put your head through this hole, and your arms through these.." Nigel shows him and helps him put the sweater on. He helps him put everything on. How did this kid not know this stuff?

Nigel spends the next couple hours making sure the young man was settled for another night, trying to have a conversation with him.

Eventually, he has to go to work. He hesitates at the door and sighs. "I'll be back in a few hours, don't worry."

The young man looks confused by him leaving, watching from the couch, anxiety welling up inside his stomach.

Nigel takes his silence as an 'okay' and gives a little wave, heading out of the apartment.
