Chapter 1

Fang's pov

"congrats! You won again" we friend Colt called out "I never doubted you" he bumped his shoulder on mine.

I laughed "I'm sure, I'm sure" I said while I took the towel from his extended hand and wiped my face and neck that the sweat had wetted.

I heard a chuckle on my side. I didn't have to look to recognize the person behind it, but I did anyway. "you are telling us, you don't remember what you said when you first saw his opponent? 'you sure you wanna go against him?' was your question. If you call that 'not doubting', then alright"

She got behind me and massaged my name and shoulders "Thanks Maisie" I cracked my neck on both sides.

"No problem, cutie" she patted my back and sat in front of me, as Colt followed her move.

"Look it was a first impression" he tried explaining.

"yeah and the other 1000 times you said someth-" I cut her off

"it's pointless arguing with him! Just let him be in his own world"

She nodded and smiled "you are right"

"who is my next match?"

"no one you can go home. Get ready for tomorrow though, you are booked till 2am. Thankfully you have no school the day after"

"Alright Colt! Then I will be going, see you tomorrow guys" I shook my hand good bye and left the warehouse.

When I got home I saw my mother on the couch, lying. "oh! Sweetheart you are back" she sat up and looked at me with a smile, when she realized I came in.

She knew I was out late at nights so I could get money for a car I wanted for the future. "yeah" I sat next to her, with my head down low, feeling guilty that she didn't know what I was doing.

"You have more bleedings" she touched my face, causing me to look at her "you dropped boxes while you were putting them down again?" I nodded "let me treat the wounds"

"it's ok mom! You better go to sleep" I kissed her forehead and went to the bathroom.

I got a clean cloth put on alcohol and cleaned my face and body. When finished, I lay on my bed and fell instantly asleep.
