After Zayn and I arrived back, I headed straight to the kitchen to start to plan our dinner. It dawned on me that I seemed to cook for the boys a lot. It really wasn't much different from when I was living with my parents; because of their hectic schedules I made dinner most of the time. It's not like I minded-I love to cook. I envision a lot of dinner parties in my future.

It was three o'clock by the time I had planned out dinner. Gretchen's flight was arriving at four. I grabbed my bag and went to see Zayn before I left.

"Hey babe, are you going to get Gretchen?" he asked leaning on the doorway casually, momentarily making me lose focus.

"Uh-yup-yeah! Her uh-flight touches down at four," I said.

"Great, I'll walk you down. Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?" Zayn asked as we headed to the lift.

"No, it's fine! I'm a pro at airports. Besides, do you really want to be there while Gretchen and I are having our girl talk and squealing every thirty seconds? I believe somebody mentioned feeling like a third wheel earlier," I said sending him a smirk.

"Haha very funny. I'll see you when you get back. Text me yeah?" Zayn replied.

As we went through the doors, I saw a cab about a block away. After raising my arm to hail the cab, I turned to Zayn and cupped his cheek before kissing him. I smiled into the kiss as I felt his arms wrap around my back. The blissful moment was interrupted with the cabdriver honking his horn saying "I don't have all day!" I blushed and then giggled as I gave Zayn one last peck before sliding into the cab.

*******

"I'm so excited! I can't believe my best friend is dating one of One Direction! Hey, do you know if Niall is still single?" Gretchen said as we got into the cab taking us back to my flat.

"Yes, he's single, but don't come on too strong," I laughed.

"Me? Coming on too strong? Pshhhh! As if!" Gretchen said quoting one of her favorite movies.

(A/N: if you know the movie I love you!)

"Oh my gosh! It's Niall Horan! I love you! I'm a huge fan! HAVE MY BABIES!" Gretchen said pretending I was Niall.

"I've missed you!" I said hugging her.

"See and now I've got it all out of my system. I'll be subtle and play it coy, ask him where's the best place to get chips around here!" Gretchen said with a dramatic hair flip and a smirk.

"Alright, you do that," I replied shaking my head. "Do you want to help me with dinner? Only if you promise not to burn my flat building down!"

"That sounds like fun! And plus Niall loves food," Gretchen said smirking again as I could see the wheels turning. "You know they say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach,"

"Will you quit it with the smirking! Who do you think you are, Draco Malfoy?" I cried.

"No, but if things don't work out with Niall, perhaps you can use your new found connections to set me up with Tom Felton!" she squealed.

I rolled my eyes at this. "You do know he has a serious girlfriend!"

"Right. Well Niall's way cuter and that Irish accent - sweet nibblits!"

"What are we twelve?"

"Hannah Montana was a very large part of my childhood!"

*********
"Okay, the table is set, and I have the starters out on the coffee table!" Gretchen said walking into the kitchen.

"Great! The stir fry is almost done, will you watch it while I go change? Then you can change afterwards," I said turning the burner down a bit.

"Sure! Is this casual or...?" Gretchen asked taking the stirring spoon from me.

"I was just going to put on some jeans with a dressy top. You could get away with a causal dress," I replied as I headed up the stairs.

"Okay, sounds great!"

*********

"And then somehow they had managed to get shampoo in the pool! Her parents were so upset!" Gretchen laughed, finishing her story.

"I never thought Daphne would ever throw a party when her parents were out of town on the weekend," Liam said pensively.

"Nah, I can totally see it! Daphne can be mischievous!" Louis remarked smirking.

"Yeah, you can see a lot of things," Zayn snapped glaring at Louis.

"Well Gretchen, you mentioned you were just in Hawaii, how was that?" Niall squeaked, trying to change the subject.

"Zayn, kitchen now," I said.

Once we got into the kitchen, I crossed my arms before saying,"That was uncalled for! Have you two still not talked about this?"

"No," Zayn mumbled.

"Look, I already told Louis that I don't like him that way. Now look, you guys are best friends. . .errr mates. You need to work this out!" I explained.

"Okay, I will,"

"Tonight, before he leaves dinner,"

"Fine,"

We then made our way back to the table. Thankfully everyone had stayed on the Hawaii topic. Gretchen and Niall were intensely discussing food in Hawaii. I quietly sighed in relief.

Soon everyone had finished eating and we heading back to their respective flats. I made sure to give Zayn a suggestive nudge. He sighed but made his way over to Louis and asked him if they could talk. They went into the kitchen. Within a few minutes, they were back smiling and cracking jokes.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Niall and Gretchen were still talking. Niall then looked at the ground saying something and Gretchen laughed and stretched out her hand. Niall smiled probably the widest I'd ever seen him and pulled out his phone. Go Gretchen I thought.

A/N:

Wow. . .it's been awhile. I honestly randomly decided to check up on this account. It's so weird that I was a sophomore in high school when I started this page, and now I'm soon going to be going into my sophomore year in college. I just feel bad that this story is so close to being done, but it's not finished. And according to the stats, the story is decently liked.

I have the epilogue planned, so I'm going to write that so hopefully it will be coming out on the same night this is.

I apologize for how long this has taken. I'm obviously at a different stage in my life. But, I'm going to try to finish what I started.
