It was all a lie.

Fast forward a week or so. I texted Michael, telling him I was scared to lose him and that I was afraid he would leave me. After I tell him that he asks if we could be "just friends". As I read those words, my heart shattered.
I told him that we could be just friends. What I didn't know was that what had happened would affect my mental health so badly. The next day, I woke up to a message from Michael that read, "Hey, can you bring my hoodie?"
After I read the message, I grabbed his hoodie and held it tight. Because I knew that was the last thing I had of him, and it was being taken away from me. With a shaky breath and a blurry  vision, I replied with, "Yeah, sure."
So on my way out the door, I grabbed me an extra hoodie, knowing I would get cold. I walk in the building and set my stuff down in the gym. I walk out to the cafeteria, my eyes surching the crowd.
As I looked over, my gaze was set on the boy had broken my heart just the day before. I walk over, his hoodie in hand. "Hey, I have your hoodie," I say.  Michael doesn't dare to look up from his phone. He says thank you. "You're welcome," I whisper as I walk off in tears.
Later, I'm sitting in class minding my own business, and Jake walks over and says something that just ruins my day. "Michael never liked you for your personality, you know." Jake says. "What do you mean?" I say, eager to find out the truth.
He then proceeded to tell me that Michael only liked me for my body and was doing Jake the favor of 'getting me off his back'. I didn't respond. I sat at my desk and cried for the remainder of the class. The moment I heard the dismissal bell, grabbed my stuff and walked out of the room as swiftly as I could.
Once I turn the corner, I see Michael sitting on the bench, I stop dead in my tracks and look at him for a moment and run to the bathroom to gather my self before I had to face my friends. Later that day. Michael texts me and asks if I'm okay. " I'm not sure," I respond. He then asks why.
So I told him everything Jake said. He then proceeded to say that everything Jake said was just a lie. I didn't know who to believe. But in the next few days, another heart was broken.
