You know this can't be real.

But it is.

Instead of Kalpas meeting up with you at a candy shop, he's walking down the block with a soft pink haired lady.

What the heck?!

Your heart dipped to your toes. Kalpas leaned towards her, whispering something. And then she leaned in closer, laughing.

The frustration on your face failed to hide, because your friend tapped on your shoulder.

"Where is he..." Elysia followed your gaze, and gasped in shock.

"Did he even read my message?" You spat. "Of course he didn't, because he's busy with some girl!"

"What's the matter with him?"

You stomped off the opposite direction of him. They were heading towards the park.

"Wait, don't go!" Elysia pulled you back. "Let's go talk to them."

"What?! And watch them make lovey-dovey eyes to each other? No thank you!" 

"Fine, then I'll go by myself," Elysia headed towards the park.

"No, no. Let him enjoy his date, if that's what makes him happy," you stared at your shoes.

Elysia noticed your eyes glistening. "Oh no,    Y/N." She embraced you tightly. "Don't be sad if Kalpas is taken. There are other guys available, too." Tears threatened to spill from your eyes.

You tried to choke out: But... it's hard to move on when I've liked him for a long time. We've had this deep connection.

But the lump in your throat made all you could mutter, "Okay."

Elysia took off to the park, and you walked home, feeling like a boulder had just crushed you.

"YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST HEARD..." That was the first thing that popped up on your phone, followed up by many "WAKE UP" messages.

You rubbed your eyes, confused. It was almost evening. Shoot! I overslept. You were supposed to meet your friends and shop for dresses at the upcoming MOTH party.

At this point, the person who texted you had given up, and a couple minutes later you heard random bursts of knocks on your door. "Hello? Earth to Y/N!"

You trudged towards the door and yelped when Elysia barged in and grabbed your shoulders. "You haven't answered any of my calls! I was worried," Elysia frowned.

"Sorry, I overslept. I'm just not feeling the best..." You let out a yawn.

"I know what'll cheer you up! I overheard Kalpas saying-"

"That he has a date for the party and it's Sakura? Yeah, of course it's her-"

"No, no, no! You've got it all wrong," she shook her head. "He has yet to find a date. He's not taking Sakura. So ask him right now!"

You shrieked. "Are you serious?!"

"Heck yeah!" Elysia said. The pang of jealousy you had earlier was replaced with big balloon of hope. But it instantly deflated.
