I sat in my office, surrounded by heaps of paperwork and a never-ending to-do list. Being a mafia mobster was no easy job, but it was the life I had chosen. As I was about to dive into another pile of documents, my phone rang. I hesitantly picked it up, not recognizing the number.

"Hello?" I answered cautiously.

"Mr. Vannuci?" a voice on the other end asked.

"Yes, who is this?" I replied, my curiosity piqued.

"I'm Officer Radu from Romania. We have some information about your brother, Elliott," the voice said.

My heart skipped a beat. Elliott had been missing for years. But now, here was a police officer from Romania telling me they had found him. I couldn't believe it.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I thanked Officer Radu.

I sent a text to our brothers, urging them to come home ASAP. The car ride with Ricardo was silent, as we both struggled to process what he'd revealed about Elliot.

All we knew was that they'd found him - the details would come later at the station.

As we walked in the door, our brothers bombarded us with questions

"What's going on?" Eduardo questioned

"Can I go out with friends?" Santiago asked, thier voices overlapping. Ricardo intervened, "Calm down, guys, we need to talk about something important."

I took a deep breath and blurted out the news "Elliot has been found." The room fell silent, as our brothers' faces froze in shock.

The room remained still, as if time had paused, after I delivered the news.

Matteo, his eyes brimming with tears, stepped forward, his voice trembling. "You really found him?" he asked, seeking confirmation. I nodded.

I turned to Ricardo, he was my right-hand man in the mafia, and said, "We're going to Romania in an hour. Pack your bags, Eduardo will be here with the rest of you."

Protests erupted, but I silenced them with a single, stern glance. " I don't want to overwhelm Elliot with all of us descending upon him at once. The rest of you will stay here, and I'll keep you updated on any developments. Ric and I will head to the airport now."

I spoke calmly, trying to reassure them, and nodded at Ed, who understood the unspoken instruction to keep the details private

The thought of finally seeing Elliott again after all these years brought tears of joy to my eyes.

As we boarded the plane to Romania, I couldn't contain my excitement. The prospect of being reunited with my baby brother filled me with a sense of overwhelming happiness.

Elliot

I stir awake as a similar officer sits next to me. I swallow, daring to hold his gaze. Is he figuring out how to gently let me down?

"Elliot, honey, we've managed to locate your brother's, and Mr Vannucci, your eldest brother, is willing to take you in. He has to sign several papers, so he will arrive shortly," he said with a grin.

I have Brothers??As in more than 1?
Will they treat me like how father did?
Of course they will. Who would love a nobody like me? Who would love me if my own father didn't? My ears kept ringing, and I couldn't hear anything else. Why?? Why now??! I wasn't angry. I felt more hurt and betrayed than anger.
