It seemed to be a normal night in the kingdom of Durgu, but it was the opposite actually, it was a tense moment for the kingdom, especially for the king, who was sitting on his throne accompanied by two of his soldiers. He is quite uneasy about something, to the point of hyperventilating, this has one of the soldiers worried, who tries to calm him down.

Soldier 1: Please calm down your majesty! Both the borders and the castle are being guarded by soldiers prepared for anything. Everything will be fine!

King: We can't be sure about that... that thief... has already robbed 5 kingdoms without problems, also... I feel he's getting stronger every time...

Soldier 1: Well uh... I'm sure we won't have the same luck, I mean, it's just magic heh...

The soldier's comments don't help at all, the king is still just as uneasy. The soldier prefers not to speak anymore, returning to the awkward silence that existed in the throne room...

Until a slight noise was heard outside the room, and screams, sounds of weapons and sounds similar to explosions began to be heard. The king became more nervous than he already was, and the soldier is also starting to worry.

Soldier 1: Umm... could you check what's happening? (Referring to his partner)

Soldier 2: What?! W-why me?!

Soldier 1: Just do it!

The soldier reluctantly leaves the room slowly, fearful of what he might find.

Soldier 1: S-sorry for yelling... your majesty...

The king ignores him, he is so lost in his thoughts and fear that he did not even notice the small conversation between the two soldiers. The soldier lets it pass, because he is also beginning to get lost in his thoughts, trying to calm himself while he remembers the warning they received days before about this bandit.

It said he is skillful and silent, he will have no mercy on anyone who gets in his way and only steals magic items. That last thing is what makes the soldier curious: what magic items has this bandit stolen? He doesn't know much about magic, he only knows that the world is full of it and the only thing they have of magic in the kingdom is a mask that he doesn't even know what it does, no one has ever told him, so his head begins to fill with questions: How strong is it? What abilities he has? Why does he wants that items? It's possible...?

His mind snaps back to reality when the door is abruptly opened by a soldier being thrown at it. This soldier looked terrible, completely pale and with a lost gaze, he seemed as if his soul had been sucked out. The soldier was completely shocked, and with fear, but above all a lot of curiosity, he raised his head and finally saw the bandit. He was walking directly towards them, holding a staff with strange markings carved into it. Another striking thing about him is the gauntlet he wears on his left arm, which is surrounded by a purple aura and the gem it has in the center is shining too much.

The scared soldier turned to look at the king, he was more scared than ever, he was shaking, he was hyperventilating harder and it even seemed like he wanted to back away but he couldn't. The soldier made the risky decision to try to attack, to at least distract him so the king can escape with the mask. But his attempt was completely useless, as soon as he got close enough the bandit punched him with his gauntlet, releasing all that purple aura he had. The soldier was sent flying by the punch and was shocked by what he had just felt. More than the force of the punch, it was the purple aura that was transmitted to the soldier that shocked him. It felt like a small blizzard hit him, at the same time he could feel like someone was touching him all over his body, he could even swear that he heard some whispers, he had never felt anything like that in his entire life.

The bandit continued on his way, going directly towards the king, he felt so small compared to the bandit, especially when seeing the ease with which he got rid of one of his soldiers. When they were face to face, the bandit grabbed the king by his coat and asked him:

"Where is it?"

The king knows perfectly well what he means, although he wanted to resist, his fear got the best of him, and he tried to tell him where the mask was, but he only stuttered because of his nerves.

"SPEAK!"

The king points back at him, pointing to his throne, the bandit was confused as to what the king was referring to until he had little strange idea. He released the king, he walked away as fast as he could, and the bandit gave a strong punch to the throne, destroying it, and despite how strange it was for him, there was the mask, under the rubble of the throne.

The soldier saw this while the same questions as before torment him, but above all there is one that he cannot get out of his head, the intrigue is so great that he ends up shouting at the mysterious man:

"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!"

Both the king and the bandit turned to look at him, the latter gave the soldier a penetrating look, he was frightened by how he saw him, with that orange glow in his eyes. He completely regretted asking him that but he knew there was no turning back.

Soldier 1: W-why do you want so much magic? D-do you want to conquer the world? or... do you want all the...?

The soldier is interrupted by a small laugh from the bandit, as he holds the mask and appears to be approaching the soldier.

??????: That's exactly what I want to avoid.

The bandit bypasses the soldier, it turns out that he was heading to the balcony. Being there, he makes a maneuver with his staff, summoning a gust of wind that takes him to his next destination.

The soldier, still lying on the ground, is assimilating everything that just happened in this night, with his head full of more questions. Avoid what? What other magic powers he has? Where will he go now? What will he do when he has everything he needs? Is it possible to stop him or...?

It's too late?
