As the university players began to leave the sports complex and make their way to the bus back to campus, Boruto and Sarada walked hand in hand, enjoying the cool evening breeze. Mitsuki and Chocho followed close behind, their chatter filling the air with laughter and excitement.
"Wow, what a game, huh?" Mitsuki said, nudging Boruto playfully. "You really gave it your all out there."
Boruto grinned, a hint of pride in his voice. "Thanks, Mitsuki. Couldn't have done it without the team's support."
Chocho chimed in, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "Yeah, you guys were amazing! It was like watching a professional match."
However, their joyous mood was soon interrupted when Kawaki and his girlfriend approached them. Boruto's grip tightened on Sarada's hand, his expression darkening as he glared at his rival. Sarada, on the other hand, remained composed, choosing to ignore Kawaki's presence.
Kawaki spoke with a sweet yet bitter tone, his words dripping with arrogance. "Well, well, if it isn't Mr. Golden Boy himself," he said, smirking. "I must say, you put up quite a fight out there."
Boruto's jaw clenched, his eyes narrowing in determination. "Cut the act, Kawaki. What do you want?"
Kawaki's smirk widened as he glanced at Sarada. "Oh, nothing much, just a little challenge. I heard you're not one to back down from a fight."
Sarada raised an eyebrow, her gaze steady. "And what kind of challenge would that be?" Boruto askes
Kawaki's eyes gleamed with mischief. "The next tournament, of course. Winner gets bragging rights."
Boruto's grip on Sarada's hand tightened even further, his voice low and dangerous. "You're on, Kawaki. But remember, if I win, you owe Sarada and me an apology."
Kawaki chuckled, a hint of malice in his tone. "Deal. Let's see if you've got what it takes to beat me this time."
With the terms agreed upon, the group boarded the bus, finding seats together near the back. As the bus rumbled to life and began its journey back to university, Boruto and Sarada sat side by side, deep in conversation.
"So, what do you think about Kawaki's challenge?" Boruto asked, breaking the silence between them.
Sarada sighed, her brow furrowing in thought. "I think it's reckless of him to make such a bet, but I also know you won't back down from a challenge."
Boruto nodded, a determined glint in his eyes. "You're right. I won't let him get away with his arrogance. Besides, it's not just about winning for me. It's about proving to him and everyone else that you're not defined by your past."
Sarada smiled softly, her heart swelling with affection for the blonde-haired boy beside her. "Thank you, Boruto. I believe in you, and I know you'll give it your all."
Their hands found each other's once again, intertwining in a silent gesture of solidarity and support. As they gazed out the window at the passing scenery, a sense of determination filled their hearts, driving them forward with renewed purpose.
