Small explanations

To explain my point of view:
In this fanfiction after the quarrel, Dipper sort of justifies the Dib in his eyes, does not admit that it was something not good. Yes, Dib did not behave well, we must admit that it was a mistake and discuss it, and not frantically justify it.

From Dib's side. Just because you snapped once doesn't make you a bad partner. In fact, he was in a deranged state.

Dib kind of idolizes his partner. In fact, Dipper was his anchor. A person is very worried when what keeps his emotional state is shaky. Well, or something happens that can shake it.
This whole situation will float in the future, because they haven't discussed it. Even the situation itself is not as bad as the fact that it remained between them, like an unpleasant chip that none of them went to fix.

They don't understand each other. They don't know how to talk to each other. During the whole ff, they never had a proper conversation about what happened. They often avoided saying anything.

They didn't love each other any less, it's just... Not being able to talk in a compartment with a certain obsession with each other is a disaster for a relationship.

This is solely my opinion and position, it would be interesting to read what you think about this situation.
