I sit down at a booth to take a break as I breathe in air. I have rollerskates on my feet and I'm equipped with a broom to match with my employee's outfit I have to wear. I wear black shorts with a white shirt that has colorful spirals and confetti covering it; almost to make it give the vibes of a party. As I sit, I realize I finally get to leave work in 30 minutes. I closed the rink not too long ago, probably 25 minutes, the reason why I'm out of breath? I've been busting my ass. I love this place but it sure can get dirty. Pizza basically covers the floor and the walls surrounding the dozen trash cans around the place are sticky due to soda and smell like a mixture of coke, sprite, and cake. I forgot to mention that there were also 3 birthday parties today. Luckily I wasn't the only one cleaning, my two other coworkers Dave and Johanna were helping me, but Johanna had to leave early and Dave just clocked out. I decide that I've sat down long enough and skate over to the spot in the roller rink where I need to sweep. It's not too entertaining but sweeping the popcorn off of the rink is satisfying in a way. Just as I finish, there's a call at the front desk. I skate my way over to the front desk and as I arrive, I rest the broom against the wall and pick it up. "Hello, this is Rosie's Roller Rink, how may I help you?" I say into the phone. "Hello Sammie, how's the roller rink?" A voice that sounds masculine and deep says into the line. I can't put my finger on it but that voice... It sounds so familiar. Then it hits me like a car going 75 in a 20 zone. "Why are you using that voice? You should know not to use that considering the recent events." I tell them back; for context, 4 people just died in Houston due to someone orchestrating their own Ghostface attacks, they never got to finish them as someone shot them with a shotgun in their chest, killing them due to the lack of a bulletproof vest. "Not to mention, you seem to know me and if you do you know not to use that voice, so respectfully turn it off and I can assist you." "Oh Sammie, but you see me and that person have something in common..." The person replies, leaving an awkward silence where I want to ask what they mean but nothing comes out and I decide not to as I waited too long. "We both want to gut the people we talk to over the phone." I'm taken aback to the point where I don't even process what they said at first, this can't be real, can it? "This isn't funny. Don't call back." I hang up the phone, thanking god that this isn't real. I mean it can't be, can it? I can see why someone would attempt something like this considering who I am but I've been sitting in peace for god knows how long, the last time this happened was 4 years ago... "Fuck!" I yell as the phone starts ringing again. I get a lump in my throat and get a tingly feeling in my stomach as anxiety overrides my body. I don't want to answer again, fearing it might be the same person but my manager is strict over answering the phone due to the fact that one day a girl decided not to answer the phone and Rosie's got 56 complaints and 2 death threats. Since then, you're strictly forbidden from letting it ring, so I swallow the lump in my throat and answer the phone. "Hello, this is Rosie's Roller Rink, how may I help you?" I ask. "Sammie this time don't hang up or I make sure your last breath have you choking on your own blood and eyeball." I want to cry hearing this but I bear through it. "What do you want?" I ask as I walk to my manager's office. "I wanna see your insides, Sammie." The voice replies. "Look just leave me alone and I'll forget this happened, okay?" I ask hoping this is just a sick prank as I arrive at my manager's office. Before I go inside, I see the exit next to the office and decide to grab the key inside the office to escape.  I go inside and look at the desk which has a weird stratch that wasn't there before. I go over to a panel on the wall. "Oh, I'm afraid I already made up my mind about what I want to do to you." The person chuckles in an eerie way. I enter the pin to the panel and press the 911 button. I turn around and look for the key and realize that the key is gone, and this makes me realize the situation is more than just some cruel comments. "Please just leave me alone! I didn't do anything. I'll do anything to get you to leave me alone!" "Anything, Sammie?" The voice asks me. "Anything. I swear." I reply. "Here's what we're going to do. We're gonna play a game of red light, green light with the lights." "What? How?" I ask confused. "Here's how." They let out the same eerie chuckle from before. "Now playing Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell." Alexa announces as you hear the song being played in the roller rink. "Now go out to the roller rink." The voice commands me. "Okay." I say as I walk out to the roller rink, wanting to cry, at least the police will arrive soon.
