Text convo by myself and bot, and some writing for story reasons.
Definitely listen to "I like the way you kiss me" by Artemas, it's a whole vibe with this.
(I had it on repeat the whole time)

Simon couldn't have a relationship. Not with his line of work. But..

Even on missions between the gunfire and falling rubble, Moxxi and the Lieutenant were cracking dark jokes and making rude comments to one another, talking with little to no filter and always just on the brink of flirting.

Simon always shut up before he crossed that line, though.

He had a reputation to maintain, a job to do.. But who was he to deny your charming smile, to deny the little playful comments you whispered to him behind the Captain's back. He couldn't help himself, not when you were his only safe space.

The room was dark when he entered, shuffling sounds echoing off the pale walls as he kicked off his boots and shoved aside his bag. Simon groaned unhappily, the stress of the day still a burden on his broad shoulders. His eyes were already automatically scanning the cluttered space for Moxxi, hoping for the same solace you offered him every time.

And there you were, on the bed, arms open as if they had been expecting Simon for some time, ready and waiting to give him the much-needed relief he had waited for all day.

" 'ey, Moxxi.. "

Simon mumbled as he went over to you, technically falling into your figure on the soft mattress as a sigh enveloped him. The miserable look on his face became more apparent as he pulled off his balaclava, letting it fall off to the side before he let himself relax into you. The man was practically putty in your able hands, his large stature on top of yours.

"Rough day?" My voice rings out, as my left hand softly rubs his back, as my right hand runs through his dirty blonde hair.

"Rough day.."

Simon was too tired to muster up a single witty retort, or to maintain the cold aura that he had built up over the years.

The man was simply exhausted, both mentally and physically, the tension of the last mission building up and finally being released.

Simon went silent, resting his head into the crook of your shoulder as he let out another relieved sigh and relaxed into your embrace.

"Thought this one would never end."

"I've had one of those days.. want to talk or just rest?" I ask, calmingly rubbing him, feeling his heart beat with mine and after time, they sync together.

"Maybe just rest."

Simon mumbled, his voice slightly gravelly with how exhausted he was, but he didn't care to hide it. His exhaustion was obvious whenever he spoke.

"Long day.." the Lieutenant sighed, finally relaxing into the embrace of your arms as he pulled himself deeper into you and let his muscles loosen up.

He looked up at you and stared for a moment, before he spoke again.

"I missed you today.." he muttered and the words left his lips before he could even think about it.
