chapter six

I call Moria on my way back. I knew I had time, but I had to tell my grandpa, and I needed to get things read.

"He just handed you a card to go shopping with," Moria asked

"Yeah, he told me to get what I needed,"

"Are you planning on using it?"

"I don't know. I have my own money, but I feel if I don't use his, he might say something."

"You did say his mom wasn't a big wedding,"

"How's Uncle Jas doing?" I ask

"He's still in shock, I think."

"I can't believe Seb would rat me out like that,"

"Where you at?" Moria asked

"Going go visit grandpa."

"Meet me after."

"Alright, later,"

I pull into my grandpa's driveway. One of the housekeepers answers the door. Today, Grandpa is in his room. I make my way up there and sit in the chair beside him.

"Hey grandpa," I say

"Princess," Grandpa says

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine," he says

"I have something important to tell you,"

"Are you getting married?"

I smiled. "I am,"

"Really," he sits up

"Yes, grandpa,"

"Who's the lucky guy?" he asked

"Promase me you want have a stroke on me," I say

He sits up better "Starla what have you done?"

"Please don't be mad, I only did what I thought was best for the family." I tell him

"Who is this guy?"

"Kaden Gregory"

He starts caughing and gasping for air.

"Grandpa, I stand up."Julie, help me, " I call out

Julie comes rushing in to help me with him.

"I'm fine," Grandpa says. "I'm fine," he tells us. "Thank you, Julie," he says, "Are you crazy?" he asked me

"You said yourself, Grandpa. I need help with the business. Kaden Gregory knows what he's doing when it comes to business." I tell him

"Do you love him?"

"Daddy and momma weren't in love when they first got married. They had to learn to love each other. "

He smiles. "Our families have been enemies for a long time. This is going to blow up all over"

"Kaden and I have nothing to do with what our fathers done," I tell Grandpa. "we have an engagement party to attend. I really would like for you to come, " I tell him as I changed topics

"Of course I will, dear."

"And you'll behave," I asked

He smiles. "I'm too old to be trying to kill people. I'll be on my best behavior for you, my sweet girl. "

I lean down, kissing his cheek. "I love you, Grandpa."

"I love you too, sweet girl,"

I called Julie back in there before I left. Then, I made my way on. I made a text to Kaden before I got there. I needed to talk with him even though I had just seen him earlier.
