"Anyeong...haseo....", I responded to Seun-Ho's stare with a panicked wave , hoping that would reduce his suspicions. My hand moved by itself in my forehead, facepalming myself over my stupidity for forgetting to whom century I'm in right now and proceeded to bow just like Korean people do in respect and greeting.Suddenly, a surge of uneasant tension shot through me as I realised my mother language wouldn't be understood by anyone in this reality. I looked up at Lord Seung-Ho, and I flinched when I saw his calm and soft expression.
"Annyeonghaseo...", Seung-Ho's voice was filled with suprise as he repeated what I had said, although in a much more fluent accent.
The Lord stood there quietly, keeping a silent confusing stare at me like he was trying to understand my behavior. His demeanor suddenly changed from a look of skepticism to one of distrust as he stepped towards me, causing me to walk back several steps, startled by the quick change in his behavior.
I began to feel uneasy and nervous as it seemed like his patience was running out. I also noticed how his body language was subtly changing, becoming more aggressive and itimidating.
My eyes widened when his hand wrapped around his sharp katana, which he held out in an itimidating manner. His warm amber eyes scanned me from the bottom to the top and back up again his , his gaze filled with suspicion growing increasingly tense and menacing.
The only thoughts running through my head was that I'm fucked up and a foot close to death and that I needed to find a way to calm his down and gain his trust as soon as possible.
Despite my best attemts to keep my emotions under control, I began panicking as he contuined to stare at me with a scary gaze. The thought of the five minute Duolingo classes I was taking once a week made me hope that it would be my saving grace, even though I only knew how to introduce myself in Korean and some swear words. I also made sure to lower my gaze and appear submissive in order to saw him my respect to his authority and power--I cringed doing that--.
"Je...ireumeun....Atene..imnida", I introduced myself and bowed. I heard something falling on the ground and my attention snapped towards the fallen katana infront of me. I looked up to see Seung-Ho's reaction, his eyes growing wide with shock and disbelief at my display of fluency.
"Hangug-eoleul asinayo?", he seemed still shocked and asked me if I knew Korean. Even though I was able to understand a few words, I attempted to reply to him in a manner that would hopefully alleviate some of his suspicions.
"Man jogeum..", I responded with a humble and submissive tone saying that I only know a little Korean. He seemed stunned by my answer. I contuined staring at him holding my breath as I waited for his next responce, feeling like my life was hanging in the balance. Was he going to stare at me with suspicion, or there's a chance that this wouldn't be the end of me and that I would find a way out of this precarious situation.
"Tsk, what are you wearing?", he spoke, and I raised an eyebrow. Maybe they don't speak Korean after all. But aren't they Korean? Anyways that's not my problem since I could understand them.Seung-Ho suddenly smirked and mentioned to Servant Kim to come to him. "Take her to the Yoon Mansion." , he ordered him, and I flinched. Servant Kum approached me and grabbed me without saying anything following Seung-Ho's orders like a dog. I can't blame him, though. Things were very brutal in ancient times. He could lose his head if he didn't follow his Masters commands.
I didn't make any effort to break free even though I could easily since he was quite old and let him drag me towards where the other men were gathered. I looked over my shoulder to Seung-Ho, who followed us with a calm and serious expression. He glanced at me while I watched him, and his expression didn't change.
I returned to the front where I was more close to the other men. I could recognize one of them as Master Min. I haven't really paid much attention to him in the Manhwa because he wasn't really interesting, and I think I've seen him in only two chapters so far. So, he wasn't really important from what I think.
My thoughts went back to Seun-Ho, but I didn't turn to look at him again. That'd be too much. I'm going to make myself clear, though. I've made a few scenarios with him if I ever met him. One of them was me sticking out my tongue when I'd first met him. Should I try it? Nah, I'll lose my head. I'll try something else.
'Damn, Athena, you'll lose your head today.', my inner voice said in my head. I can't help it, though, I really want to see his usual bitchy face change to confusion.
Maybe I'll do that later because now, we've stopped walking because we finally reached the other men. Master Min and the other who now I recognized as Jung Inhun. That bitch, my mood got ruined already. He's one of the cringe and annoying villains in the Manhwa.
But from what I could imagine, I don't think that there is any Nakyum yet around. Because if he was, he'd be here. Is he another Master? I don't really remember his rank.
Seung-Ho approached them, and they started whispering. I glanced at Servant Kim, who was already looking at me coldly. What the fuck? You're supposed to be nice. And just like that, all my delusions faded away, and I finally realized my situation. I'm an intruder to their eyes. They don't know me, and my appearance makes me more suspicious.
Maybe it's better to imagine scenarios of Master Seung-Ho than living them in real life. I really wish this was just a dream, more like a nightmare, and that I could wake up in the morning and be in my century.
