Chapter 1 - The first sight <3

Hey everyone so I'm just starting to write my first book. There will be
some spelling mistakes so please don't mind them I will be doing authors notes at the start and end so please read them because they will sometimes provide important info on the story so hope you guys enjoy

The first thing I hear as I wake up is my mom calling "Lola breakfast is ready sweetie"
As I groan I hop up out of bed and slowly walk into the bathroom. I throw water on my face and I grab a towel to dry it. And then I do the rest of my morning routine. On my way down the stairs I see my mom cooking up something delicious as she always does.
"Morning mom" I say taking a seat.
"Morning sweetheart did you sleep well?" She asks
walking towards me with a plateful of amazing foods that I'd been longing for.
"Yeah thanks" I take the plate and start eating my breakfast as my brother comes down the stairs"
"Morning lil sis"
"Morning Cal" I greet him
"Calum" my mother states "you still didn't clean your mess up. Get upstairs and do it now" she says literally making Calum jump.
"Go on cal do what mommy says" I say in a baby voice.
"Shut up" is all he says to me as he makes his way up the stairs. He is 19 and still living at home. Even though he is only 2 years older than me he still treats me like a baby and is very protective. It's my 17th birthday next week and I'm gonna have a huge party while my mom and dad are out and I can't wait. After finishing my amazing, delicious breakfast and plopping it in the sink I go upstairs and call my best friend Kayla.
"Hey Kay what's up"
"Hey Lo nothing much how about you"
"Same wanna come over and get ready together I still have your blue tie dye top here if you want to just bring
Jeans and shoes."
"Sure be there in 10"
"Bye" and I hang up the phone.
Ten minutes pass and its not long before Kayla arrives.
We get ready together and I wear white skinny jeans and a turquoise crop top with my turquoise converse to match. I do my makeup in a natural tone with pink lip stick and then I wear my long brown hair down in loose curls. Kayla wore a similar style except pink crop top to match her converse and her lovely long red hair in loose curls also and she put the same makeup as me. We go out to my back and chill beside the swimming pool. The sun is very strong so I decide to put on some sun cream and so does Kayla. Kayla and I talked for over two hours and it was now one o'clock
So we decided to go inside and grab some lunch. Kayla made her amazing ham, coleslaw and crisps roll and I have to say she is amazing at making it even though it's only a little snack. I heard the door bell ring and before I could answer it my mom was a step ahead of me.
"Hi" is all I heard my mom say and I walked over to the kitchen counter to finish my roll. After I heard the door shut my mom walked inside.
"Who was that?" I asked curious.
"Oh it's our new neighbours the Waters. They have two children,twins your age Jason and Clodagh."
"Cool" I said
"Oh and one more thing i want you to go over to there house and give them a gift basket to you know .... help them feel welcome." She says.
"Ok when?"
"After I make it which will be in a second from now. I just need to find where my ribbon is!" She says rushing over to a drawer in the kitchen. She takes it and wraps the basket in it and she puts some flowers, chocolates and a card which I'm presuming is a welcome card.
"Okay I'm done now go over and hand this to Ms. Waters"
She says handing me the basket.
"lets go kay" I say as I walk out the door. We walk out of my drive way and down the path then we turn and walk up the Waters drive way. Their house has brick walls and a red roof with flowers surrounding the house and garden which is similar to my house.
I walk up to the door and ring the door bell. The door opens revealing a woman who seems to be in her late 30's.
"Well hello pet you must be Lola" she says to me in the sweetest voice.
"Hi em, my mom wanted me to give you this to say welcome to the neighbourhood" I say in a polite, shy voice.
And then just before she could say something a voice came from the hall...
"Who's at the door mum?"
And then a boy that I'm assuming must be Jason catches my eye and I have to say he is so hot.
"Oh hey" he says to me.
"Hey" I say shyly and I can feel my face burning up. I've always been the one to get a really red face.
"Oh this is my son Jason, Jason this is..."
"Lola" he says giving me a crooked grin, " I heard, nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too, this is my best friend kayla" I say pointing to kayla.
"Hey kayla nice to meet you too" he says smiling.
He is wearing shorts and a hollister top which hug him in the right places. I have to say it looks amazing on him.
"Why don't you come in for a minute" Ms Waters says.
"Actually I can't my dad needs help out the back to fix up the garden. Sorry"
"Jason's a strong lad I'm sure he can help you"
"Em.... I ..... okay" I say nervously.
Jason hops out the door and says goodbye as we all walk down the path.
"So what made you move to mount lake, Ireland because I can tell you have a welsh accent?" I ask.
"Well it was really my parents choice me and my sister Clodagh and my little sister poppy wanted to stay and not leave our friends behind but as you can see we moved, I still stay in touch with my friends but I'm sure I'll make new ones too." he states staring into my eyes.
"So, Lola where's your dad at?" Kayla says to me slowly.
SHIT!!!!!
"Em...you guys wait here and I'm gonna just go in for a minute okay" they both nod at me and I run inside and of course my dad isn't here because he left for work an hour ago and there's no garden to do because I was lying Oh no what am I gonna do? See Lola you shouldn't lie. I walk back outside. I hate it when I question myself.
"My dad just left for work and it looks like he already finished the garden sorry"
"You don't need to be sorry Lola it's just a garden" he says filling my ears with laughter, omg its the cutest laugh I've ever heard.
"So what do you want to do?" I ask nervously
"Maybe you can show me around mount lake if you want?"
"YES!!..... I mean yeah that'd be great"I say as he laughs again.
"Kay do you want to come?" I ask her but she nods in disagreement.
"No I'm fine you guys go I'll talk to you later Lo"
"Okay bye" I wave to her and then she disappears down the road.
"So where does Kayla live?" Jason asks.
"She just lives just three houses down from me so you could say we are neighbours"
"Oh well I bet that comes in handy?"
"Yea it does"
"So why do they call it mount lake?"
"Come on I'll show you"
We walk down the road for a few minutes and then turn around a corner.
"Wow" is all he says as I show him the beautiful sight of mount lake (btw is a lake)
And I can tell he's blown away.
"So what do you think" I ask
Taking a wrong step and nearly fall into the lake. Good one Lola!
"Lola...NO...quick grab my hand!" he says and I do. But that doesn't go well as planned because I fall into him and we are inches away from kissing each other.
"Thank you" I say.
"Your welcome" he says smiling almost brushing against my lips. OMG!!!
Before I know it I'm kissing him and he kisses me back. It's not long before it's over and we pull away There's something about this kiss (even though it was only a peck)that's different from all the other kisses I've had this means something to me.
"LOLA!! I hear someone scream.
"Kayla?"
"Lola there you are. hey Jason" Kayla says
"Hey". Jason replies.
"So I thought I'd bring something and we can enjoy the night while the sun sets blah..blah...blah...yeah so I brought drinks for us." she laughs." One for you and one for you and one for me." she chimes handing me and Jason a bottle.
"Thanks" We say in unison.
We sit there until midnight and watch how the moon reflects off of the lake which is beautiful. We walk back to the neighbourhood and Kayla hugs me and waves Jason goodbye. Then it's just me and him for the second time today. We finally reach our houses and what he does next surprises me.......

I know I'm so bad I just gave you a cliffhanger on the first chapter sorry but I'd thought if I made a cliffhanger you would want to read more so hopefully this works 😂😂. Next chapter is going to be about Lola and Kayla getting to know Clodagh and all SO READ IT!!! 😂 BTW what do you guys think of Lola's nickname Lo I couldn't really think of anything else. Thanks for reading my first chapter of TBND (the boy next door). I hope you all liked it.
