My Sunshine

"It's been 7 years. Everyone comes, everyone goes, everyone is settled in their life. It's better for everyone, given that once the thing called same-sex marriage was not a thing. But now, everything is perfect after the conclusion of the same-sex marriage bill passed in Thailand. Now, those who love each other can, in the end, be married legally, officially, and not just for tradition.

Although Kongpob and Arthit both got married initially by tradition, they never did a wedding or anything legal. For Kongpob, it was okay, but sometimes Arthit wondered why. Why can't I call Kong my husband officially, and sign the papers like all the others? saying yes and the vows of marriage it was all the loveliest things for Arthit to see he attended many marriages, and seeing them getting married like that made him jealous and hate being in the country. Meanwhile, Kongpob was happy with just Arthit being with him. All he cared about was staying with Arthit, and that's all. 'If he is with me, the whole world is mine, because he is my whole world,' was his saying."

Hearing the bill passed finally, the happiness for both of them was on cloud nine. They couldn't stay in the same place at all, jumping up and down under the LGBTQ flag as if they had won - they had won in life. For the first time, Arthit felt everything was right. Everything was so right that he could feel his heart pumping more heartily; it gave him another life.

Seeing the sky filled with those colors made his eyes fill with dreams, hope, wishes, and he could see a future for him and Kongpob.

Kongpob: "Arthit khap, we finally won the war against the world, our war." As he held Arthit's hand, he said, "Our love won against the world," as he hugged him. Seeing this much crowd but not being afraid of hugging was the best feeling for both of them.

A slight tear welled up in Arthit's eyes as he saw Kongpob making a deep, long eye contact, smiling the longest he ever did smile.

He saw how many people were present in the crowd with them proposed to each other. Seeing them happy made everyone fill with happiness. Arthit saw this, and somewhere in his heart, he wanted Kongpob to do this as well, but he knew it was not the best choice because, well, Kong knows Arthit never likes the attention of crowds, and they already got married verbally by heart and exchanged rings as well.

Kongpob: "What are you thinking, Arthit, aoon?"

Arthit: "Huh, ahh, yeah, what? Nothing. Let's take some pics. I want this to be one of the best memories for us."

Kong: "Yeah, sure. Let's take photos."

Arthit nodded, a slight cute nod as if saying yes.

After the celebration and the crowd decreased, both of them went and sat down near a lake. Seeing their reflections in the water, soft and their smiling faces for each other, was the best scenery for each other. Arthit was looking up at the sky, admiring the sundown itself.

Arthit: "How pretty can a sundown be?"

Kong, looking at Arthit: "Yeah, how pretty can it be?"

Arthit: "I'm talking about that, Kong, not me."

Kong: "But I am talking about you."

Arthit looked down, giggling. Still, after many years, his heart skips a beat when Kong does something like this.

Kong: "I love you." Suddenly, Kong cupped Arthit's face, caressing his hair, touching his soft, plumping cheeks, caressing them gently.

Arthit: "Me too. I love you too. Let's stay like this forever."

Kong: "Not forever, but for infinity."

Suddenly, he got a call. His face went serious as he answered.
