They were at Aiden's house watching a horror movie, and eating popcorn and candy together. Ashlyn wasn't a big fan of horror movies because she hated jump-scares, but she didn't tell Aiden that. About 45 minutes in a jump-scare comes on and really scares Ashlyn, she grabbed Aiden's arm when it came on and clenched it. He smirked and asked "You scared?". Ashlyn replied and said, "No, I just wasn't expecting it...". "Okay," Aiden replied, "If you get too scared tell me.". Ashlyn nodded.
About 30 more minutes in the movie another jump-scare comes on, and was scarier than the last one. Ashlyn grabbed Aiden's arm, and hid her face in his shoulder in fear. He paused the movie, "You okay? We can turn off the movie if you're too scared." Ashlyn nodded. Aiden turned off the movie and hugged her. "It's okay." He said. "It's not real." Ashlyn nodded and hugged him a bit tighter. "I love you." She said. "I love you too." He replied.
