That night, Mike was driving towards his new job at Freddy's Fazebear Pizzeria. The streets were quiet, streetlight illuminated the road in front of him.
Meanwhile, Claire walked over to the window of their shared bedroom and stared out of it, wondering why she had a bad feeling about where Mike was going. All she knew was, that it wasn't far to drive and that he would be back by six in the morning.
"Let me give you a little backstory. The place was huge in the '80s with the kids. It's been shut down for years. The only reason they haven't given it the old wrecking ball treatment is the owner's a bit of a..."
Mike gripped his steering wheel tighter as he navigated through the roads, focusing on the road ahead. The closer he got to the pizzeria, the more he noticed the silence of the town but he continued driving.
Meanwhile, Claire walked into Abby's room to see her asleep in bed, cuddling her teddy bear, she smiled to herself before quietly leaving the room. She walked back into the shared bedroom, opened her closet, knelt down, dug her hands into the back of the closet and pulled out a shoebox.
"Well... He's kind of a sentimental guy, I guess..."
Mike approached the pizzeria car park, the place stood tall and quiet. The once lively place with joy and laughter but a dark secret stood like the dark secret that loomed over the building. Mike parked up and stopped the engine before he got out of the car, looking up at the building. He saw the sign saying Freddy's Fazebear Pizzeria with a bear above the words waving sunlight on the front of the building.
Meanwhile, Claire sat against the wall as she opened the shoe box to see everything she had on her when she ran, she brought out a badge of the same exact sign looking at it as she teared up. She dropped the badge and looked to her side to try and calm herself down but it wasn't working. She covered her face as she started to cry, "Leave me alone... I don't want to remember anymore," She begged.
"Just can't bring himself to let it go yet."
Mike walked towards the rundown building, he unfolded a paper of numbers that he had written down from his call with Steve. He unlocked the chains, that secured the barricade, and they dropped to the floor. He pushed the doors open with a creak, his bag slung over his shoulder as he walked into the building, the only thing he could hear was his own footsteps.
Meanwhile, Claire had buried the shoebox back in her closet and was lying in her bed, she looked over at Mike's side. She grabbed his pillow and pulled it closer to her, resting her head against it to try and keep calm with his scent near her.
"Security system's dated but fully functional. Floodlights on the outside, camera inside and outside. Fair warning, the electricity is a bit... Iffy."
