In 1406 A.D., a woman named Genevieve fled from home because the villagers believed she was a bad omen. They thought she could bring misfortune to the entire village and their loved ones due to her magical abilities to shapeshift into any feline creature and the magic coursing through her veins.

Genevieve ran for days and days until she stumbled upon a place where people like her were embraced with open arms. Magic is transfused in the air, land, and water.

She found a home, people who care about her, and love.

But everything took a drastic change during the summer solstice.

A dark deity rises from the shadows, claiming to be Genevieve's magical brother. His name is Acanthus, and he has been searching for her for two decades. He believes that to rule over all magic beings, he needs to consume her quintessence first and then the others.

However, she denied him the right.

This answer made him furious and resulted in him relinquishing his anger on the place she calls home and destroying it.

She did her best to reason with him but was unsuccessful. So, with a heavy heart, Genevieve and the other four leaders fought with Acanthus. The fight lasted until the night of the summer solstice.

The darkness granted him infinite power. Just as they were on the brink of defeat, the Moon suddenly shone brighter than ever. Its silvery light engulfed them, healing and replenishing their energy. Empowered by this surge of power, they were able to defeat Acanthus.

Fosselene was peaceful once again, but Genevieve still had an unsettling feeling.

Before his end, Acanthus declared: "You might think this is the end of me, but it's not. I will be back! As long as your blood lives on in your descendants, I will get the power I rightfully deserve on the solstice. I won't stop until I have drained every ounce of quintessence and blood from their being. And then, you all will see how powerful I can be."

Being reminded of his declaration troubled her, but as three decades passed, Genevieve forgot about Acanthus's statement.

Peace ran in Fosselene for 617 years.

However, it seems that Acanthus's declaration was not just for show because a sense of foreboding swept into Fosselene. It appears an apprehensive event will occur on the night of the summer solstice.

This will impact not only the residents of Fosselene but also the one meant to be the Goddess's successor.
