Nayantika

Noices

I hear them constantly, I hear them everyday day

But the adrenaline is enough to tire me

I was so shocked that I had shortness of breath, and i could barely hear a thing springing through the air i could sense the voice but it didn't go through my ears making me shiver

Suddenly I was eased into his comfortable embrace, he wrapped his arms around my shoulder and i sunk into his chest hiding my ashamed face

I whimpered silently when my mother yelled at me calling me a slut and a cheap woman who has no shame or empathy for her fiance

Blood rushed to my face when he put his other hand on my head and patted it slowly

"Your burden is now my responsibility, so I suggest you leave now"

He exclaimed

His powerful voice and persona was enough to let my mother know he was dangerous, she silently stood up and left without saying a word, she didn't even look back to take a Last look at the girl she birthed

There was complete silence, the air was cold and the sky had gotten dark

Suddenly he completely took his hands off me

of course he would, he is a nice man that's why he saved me or else why would anyone even touch my ugly self

I stood there in complete silence without even looking at him, my legs trembled and my nuckles turned white but i didn't move even a little from my place

The cold air hit my face leaving me completely in a mess

I fumbled on the cold marble floor losing control of my shivering legs

My hands automatically went to my face,i covered my face with my palms and finally let out a cry I was holding for so long and I cried as much as i could

My bangles collided with each other creating tingling sounds that hurt my ears

I'm tired of the constancy
The constancy of judgement
I'm tired of hiding who I am

My tears are salty and warm as they fill my eyes with moisture

I look up after a long resistance to see myself alone in the temple

I suddenly got up and looked around with hope that he might be here lurking around but i found no one

And a lone tear fell from my eyes, i sobbed as i looked at maa Durga and joined my hands up in the air but nothing came out of my mouth

I coughed because of my sore throat and wiped my tears from my sleeve

I had nowhere to go now

All alone in This scary, cruel world

"Kaha se aayi hai aap"

Suddenly I heard his husky voice mixing with the cold air, i closed my eyes in relief and thanked Maa Durga

I felt his dark persona behind me waiting for an answer

I turned

His staring eyes immediately made me lower my gaze with shame, he must think wrongly of me

"Explain yourself in words, everything from what's your name to who you are and why you got in this situation"

he said without batting his eyes and turned to look at the moon that had a beautiful shade of orange on it
