"It couldn't be a dog," Amanita thought. Of course, many students at Hogwarts had pets with them, but they were usually cats, owls, or small animals. It could have been a Gamekeeper's dog, but... She had a bad feeling about this.

"Is it... is it something from the Forest?" she said to Remus, worried, and grabbed his sleeve, pulling him toward the locker room.

"No it's..." For a moment Remus tried to understand how Sirius suddenly appeared near the arena, but then a cold realization hit him. Sirius couldn't see them, though it might have been too late for that. But Amanita definitely should not see Sirius in his dog form. He placed a protective hand on her waist.

Amanita noticed the worried expression on Remus's face, which deepened her own concern. But then, in the darkness, she saw a pair of angry, yellow eyes. Without hesitation, she grabbed Remus's hand and pulled him towards the locker rooms. Their brisk walk soon turned into a run, and without looking back, they hurried toward the nearest building. "Come on!"

Only when they entered one of the locker rooms did Amanita release his hand and quickly closed the door behind them.

"Shit..." she whispered, trying to catch her breath.

"We made it..." Remus breathed heavily, leaning on his knees with his hands. His voice was still somewhat fast and heavy. He paused for a moment, and his eyes found Amanita again. "Are you okay?"

"Yes," she said, sitting on one of the benches to catch her breath. "What was that? Did you saw it?"

"I'm... not sure," Remus mumbled, trying to avoid the inevitable. How much did Sirius saw? Damn it. There was no way he didn't saw them. For a moment,  he tried to listen, but then... knocking on the locker room door echoed.

Amanita raised an eyebrow confused. It didn't sound like an animal hitting on the wooden door, rather... regular knocking. A persistent kind.

Remus's eyes widened as the knocking continued. He leaned against the door for a moment, hoping the knocking would stop. His eyes flickered between Amanita and the door, but he remained silent with her.

Soon, the knocking turned into pounding, and from outside, they could hear familiar voice.

"Remus!!! Remus! Open these damn doors," Sirius shouted.

Remus froze in place. He had been caught. Completely and irreversibly caught. Maybe he could pretend this didn't happen, but... Amanita quickly got up from the bench and moved toward the door. She was disoriented herself, but she reacted instinctively. Despite Remus's resistance, she opened the door quickly pulled the other boy inside, closing the door behind him.

"Dude! You shouldn't be out there! Something strange is running around the arena..." she began, but quickly fell silent when she saw Sirius's irritated face. They knew each other. At least they used to.

Sirius's eyes shifted between Remus and Amanita, and a smirk appeared on his face as he entered the room, blocking their way and observing the scene.

"What the hell is going on here?" Sirius finally asked.

"Um... we were just... taking a walk," Amanita explained, somewhat bewildered by his tone.

Amanita's response wasn't what Sirius had expected, but he continued to stare at her before finally turning to Remus. His eyes were cold and calculating as he took a step closer.

"You were taking a walk?" Sirius repeated. "In the dark? Alone? At night?" He raised an eyebrow, looking at Remus, waiting for an answer.

Remus's mind was still racing as he tried to explain. Only now did he realize how fucked he was.
