Chapter 16 - Christmas Party

Waking up on Christmas Eve at 6:30 in the morning was not something I had planned on but my siblings had other plans.
The twins had decided to rush into my room, jumping on my bed and me in the process and claim that they were so excited for tomorrow that they couldn't stay in bed any longer. What that had to do with me and my sleep I don't know but what am I supposed to do about that now.
Mum has been stressing out all morning anyway because it's the Ministry of Magic's Christmas party tonight and for her, everything has to be perfect. That included mine and my siblings clothes, my dad's suit and her dress.
Unfortunately for me, being related to her and all, she has not stopped bugging me since I reluctantly trudged down the stairs this morning for breakfast. In the two minutes that it took me to sit down at the kitchen table after entering the room she had asked me a total of seven different questions, mainly about when I was going to start getting ready and if I had tried on my dress yet.
I had not tried my dress on outside of the shop we bought it in yet because as soon as we got back from the monumental day of shopping yesterday I was absolutely wiped out. But the questions continued to what jewellery I was going to wear and if I would remember that I actually had to talk to people and not just hide in a corner.
She really didn't think very highly of my social skills, and not without reason as that is usually what I did when we went to functions like this, nonetheless I was offended.
Other than having to get ready, I actually didn't have a lot of things to do today. It was 10AM now, the party doesn't start until 7, so I don't have to start getting ready until about 5. The only thing I really have to do is shower but I'll leave that until 4 because I really can't be bothered right now.
