"So theres a war going on right?" Izuku asked as the group sat around a fire. Ochako nodded and tossed a flame into the fire to get it blazing again.
"Yes. Its been going on for a few years. It started only months after your mother left," Ochako answered. She tore a piece of rabbit off the bone and placed it between her lips. She hated eating meat but in the world she lived in it was hard to grow any crops especially when Shigaraki and his forces destroyed any good land around.
Katsuki sighed heavily at the mention of the war. It started before he was born but he didnt find out about it until he turned 15. His mother and father trained him secretly behind the walls of their home before it was attacked.
Eijiro and Katsuki got away before anyone else. Mitsuki Bakugou making sure of it. Katsuki didnt see his parents for another 4 years when he had turned 19. They built a new area for the survivors of the clan and have been rebuilding them for 5 years.
"When my mom used to read to me about you guys, the forest would be full of all types of creatures. All types of beautiful beings. Did they go extinct because of the war?" Izuku questioned. He loved hearing about the many different types of creatures that Katsuki and Eijiro would play with in the forest.
Ochako and Denki also grew up with Eijiro and Katsuki. They met when they were all 5 years old and got separated when they were 9. It had only been a few years since they reconnected and they were stronger than before.
"They didnt go extinct exactly. They just went into hiding," Ochako replied as she stood up.
"They hid themselves from the view of people who dont have the abilities to see them. Let me give you the sight," She continued as she circled her hands around. Pink swirled around Izuku and suddenly he was able to see the creatures who were bouncing around and chirping.
"Oh wow... I wish Hatsume was awake to see this," He whispered as he watched a rabbit with fairy wings fly around.
"Its sad that they hid themselves. Shigaraki would hunt them down and use them as target practice," Denki stated. Izuku frowned as his eyes saddened. He watched the animals play but didnt continue the conversation.
Everyone seemed down about the things happening and Izuku didnt want to continue it.
"I'm going to head to bed... Where am I going to be sleeping?"
Katsuki pointed at a small hut and didnt say anything to Izuku. The greenette nodded and walked to the hut. He pushed open the beads that were used as a makeshift curtain to cover the door. He walked to the bed that was just hay and cotton blankets. They didnt have any fancy things in this world. Izuku didnt like that they didnt have brushes or anything.
Izuku slipped his shirt off and looked at himself in the small fountain of water that was in the center of the room. His green curls laid flat on his forehead and his emerald green eyes looked tired. He would finally be sleeping in a place that didnt remind him of his mothers death or his shitty ex boyfriend who Katsuki had thrown into a cell.
Izuku splashed the water over his face and let his body relax. It was as if everything was finally starting to hit him at once. He got sucked into a book with his best friend with no clue how to get out. His mother had been lying to him his entire life about her and about his father. He was now an on the run criminal in his world and worst of all he's supposed to help fight a war.
It started with a small sniffle from Izuku. He struggled to hold in his tears as his chest felt as if it had collapsed. His knees gave in and he fell onto the floor, tears flooding down his cheeks and his breathing coming out short and heavy. His head began to spin as he tried to hold in his sobs.
"Shit shit shit," He heard someone say before he felt two large arms around him. They pulled him off the floor and moved him to the bed.
"I dont know how to help you but just... Um breathe," The person said as Izuku sobbed loudly.
"Whats happening in your head right now," The person asked. Izuku took a deep breath before sniffling.
"Being here is a lot. Everything is hitting me suddenly," Izuku whispered. The person rubbed his back gently making Izuku yawn.
"There there... breathee" Izuku slowly started to recognize the voice. He jumped up off the bed and turned to face the blonde who was now staring at him confused.
"What are you doing here?" Izuku pressed. Katsuki rolled his eyes and grabbed Izuku's wrist. He pulled him onto the bed and stood up.
"I heard you fall so I came to check and I found you crying... I didnt know how to help you because its unusual for men to cry here. I just did what felt right to me," Katsuki explained as he backed away from Izuku. He didnt know why but he felt the urge to help the male who had just been panicking.
"Oh... Well thank you," Izuku whispered. Katsuki nodded and adjusted the necklaces that had started to tangle into one another. Izuku stayed silent as he watched Katsuki stumble before rushing out of his hut. He sat in the bed and gulped before laying down and cuddling with the cotton blanket.
He cleared his mind before drifting off to sleep. Yet he couldnt calm his pounding heart that was warning him of something. Something was coming sooner or later and he wasnt going to be prepared for it.
