After the meet

The heat in this office is unbearable, but I'm trying to ignore it. This is the second time I've checked the website today, and there's still no news. Maybe the results will be announced tomorrow.

The door creaks open, announcing the arrival of a customer. I watch him silently as he wanders between the shelves, flipping through the books. The same scene has been repeated five times today, and there have been no new sales.

After graduating from high school, choosing a university major was difficult. To make matters worse, I wasn't accepted into any of the filed I applied to. I cried all summer because I was sure I would be bored for a whole year.

At first, it was hard, but I quickly found a small job as a librarian in a nearby library. At the first months, I was really excited, but over time, waking up for work became unbearable.

The year ended and it was time to apply again. I tried to be more realistic with my choices this time. I applied to many universities, but I only passed the entrance exam for one. The first reason was my work because i don't have time to travel to passe the other tests, and the second was that it was the closest university to my city.

Now I'm waiting for the final results to be announced so I can resign and start the new school year.

The next day, the same routine repeated itself, but I stayed away from my phone. I got ready and went out. The first thing I did when I arrived was to check the university's website from the library computer. Yes, the results were there. I was sure I would find my name, but I was still nervous.

Another customer came in.

My mind wasn't here. I browsed the names slowly.

I reached the letter N,

and yes,

I was accepted on the main list.

My name is Manar, and this event will change my life in the coming months.
