WHY DID THIS TAKE ME SO LONG GRGRGRRGRGRGRGRGRRRRRR

_______________

"Dude."

Stan scrunched a brow at the desks arranged in pairs. Kyle scoured the laminated seating chart, fixed to the whiteboard with a piece of clear duct tape.

"We're like, 18, why do we need to be told where to sit?" His eyes peered over the seat with his name on it.

"You think we did something wrong?" Stan questioned, Kyle replied with a half shrug.

"As if."

He glanced silently around the cold classroom as he inched towards his seat, the new and less familiar seating placement leaving him disoriented as he eyed Stan with a dull stare, clicking his pen against the wooden desk. Students filed into the room with neutral faces twisting into mildly irate glares. Their new teacher, in place of Mr. Garrison, looked quite pleased with herself, on the contrary. Cartman's reaction might've been the most entertaining, though still not much to freak out about. An argument with the teacher followed by a lunch detention. He lurched to his new seat, muttering to Kyle as he passed by in a hushed and unintelligible voice about the seating chart being gay because he had to sit next to Craig. Funnily enough, arriving with the tall monotone voiced asshole was Kyle's seatmate, Jimmy. He greeted him with a familiar crooked tooth smile and sputtered a hey as he set his metal crutches against the wall behind his desk. Kyle didn't mind Jimmy like he minded the kids in his friend circle. Be that as it may, he was limited any interaction with him, strangers in the broad daylight because anyone could find out if they looked a little closer. Kyle didn't enjoy keeping secrets. But if it is especially required of him, he will bear being separated for a little longer, only ever locking eyes under secluded roofs. Alone. He brought his racing thoughts to a halt when he caught them drifting towards a different direction. The droning voice rattling in his ear about a topic he already knew didn't help to keep his restless mind at bay, a glance at the sluggishly ticking clock filled his body with agony and boredom.

A sheet of paper flew into his unfocused vision with it's thin edges curled up. The text was slightly blurred in his unfocused vision. When his eyes shot towards the source, the teacher had already paced to the other side of the classroom. "-So think about what you can do for other people, for the community, to help them."

"Gay," Kyle heard what he assumed was Cartman utter just loud enough for everyone to hear. A few snickers bounced off the walls.

She knitted a brow but continued, "You will record at least 15 signatures of teachers and staff you might have helped, if you do not turn this in by Friday, you will fail,"
