Bucky makes his way up the stairs, the weight of his mission heavy on his mind. As he reaches his room, he swiftly changes into a black t-shirt, the fabric clinging to his form. He grabs his mission jacket and heads towards his door.
Exiting his room, he strides purposefully down the hallway, the sound of his boots echoing against the walls. As Bucky makes his way down the hallway towards the hangar, he passes Nova's room. The sound of loud music spills out from behind her closed door, the bass thumping rhythmically against the walls. Unable to resist, Bucky pauses for a moment, a small grin tugging at the corners of his lips. He can't help but be amused by Nova's taste in music.
Shaking his head with a chuckle, Bucky continues on his way, the music fading into the background as he focuses on the task at hand. But the image of Nova, lost in her own world of music, lingers in his mind, bringing a brief moment of levity to his thoughts.
He reaches the door leading to the hangar and steps through, the familiar hum of the aircraft greeting him. He strides into the quinjet, his bag slung over his shoulder. With practiced efficiency, he stows his bag away in a designated compartment before turning his attention to the task at hand.
A few moments later, Natasha joins him, her presence a welcome sight as she steps into the hangar.
"Hey Barnes. Where do you need me?" Natasha's voice breaks through the hum of the hangar as she approaches Bucky, her gaze steady and focused.
Bucky looks up from his task, meeting her eyes with a nod of acknowledgment. "Double checks. Make sure the comms system is ready and flight checks are complete," he instructs, his tone concise yet welcoming.
Natasha nods in response, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Got it," she says before turning to make her way towards the front of the quinjet, her movements fluid and purposeful.
"So, Clint said you took Nova out today?" Natasha's voice carries back to Bucky, curiosity lacing her words as she glances back at him over her shoulder.
Bucky's lips quirk into a quiet chuckle at the question, a hint of guardedness flickering in his expression. "I did," he replies simply, his tone measured.
Natasha raises an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "That's it? Not gonna share anymore with the class?" she quips, a teasing glint in her eyes.
Bucky pauses in his task, meeting Natasha's gaze with a mixture of amusement and exasperation. "I just wanted to welcome her. Ok?" he replies, his tone slightly defensive.
Natasha's grin widens at his response, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "You sure about that, Barnes?" she teases, the playful lilt in her voice evident.
Bucky lets out a sigh, knowing he's not going to win this particular argument with Natasha. "Nat..." he begins, but she cuts him off before he can continue.
"What? C'mon Buck... she's gorgeous, feisty," Natasha pauses for emphasis, a knowing smirk playing on her lips, "she seems to have taken a liking to youuuuuu," she adds, her tone teasing.
Bucky rolls his eyes, unable to suppress a small smile at Natasha's teasing. "It's not like that, Nat," he insists, though the way his cheeks flush slightly betrays his words.
Natasha chuckles softly, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Sure, Barnes. Whatever you say," she replies, her grin widening as she turns back to her task.
As Bucky continues with his tasks, his mind drifts back to Natasha's teasing words. *Nat's not wrong. She is beautiful. Fun. Marches to the beat of her own drum... she's deeper than she lets on* he thinks to himself, a hint of admiration in his thoughts as he remembers his outing with Nova today.
