Chapter Three

Mari stares at the notification in silence for a few seconds before she gasps and furrows her eyebrows.

"What did you tell him?!" She grabs ahold of your shirt and shakes you around in your seat. You just start laughing loudly and snort as you wobble around like a noodle.

"I told him that you found him cute! Is that not what you wanted me to do?" You smirk.

"This is so embarrassing! Y/n... I meant to tell him about me! Don't tell him that I find him cute!" Mari whines and lets go of your shirt before deflating back into her chair. You take the chicken leg that she offered to you and take a bite out of it.

"I don't think you'll have to worry about it, Mari. I think he took it as a compliment, and he didn't seem weirded out by it!" You reassure her, but she hides her face in her palms and groans. You continue eating your chicken. You notice that she stays in the same place hiding her face in her palms, and you sigh,

"I'm sorry, Mari.. I didn't think it through. I didn't think about how it would've affected you." You continue looking at Mari and clean your hands off with a napkin. Then, Mari looks up and you can see her eyes widen.

"No! It's okay.. I'm just so embarrassed! Oh my God, it's hot in here." She fans herself with a napkin. Her face has now turned a light shade of pink.

"Are you sure it's okay?" You ask as you hand her another napkin.

"Yes, it's okay. Promise." She chuckles. She uses the napkin you gave her, and she starts patting the sweat off of her face, You start to laugh, and she joins in. You dip your fingers in your water and flick it at Mari's face.

"Hey!- Actually, that feels nice. Do it again."

You snort and flick water at her again. The water drips down her face, and she wipes it off with the napkin. After messing around for a bit longer, you both eat for real this time and chat a little more about what happened. You finish eating and look over at Inarizaki's table, and it seemed like they were getting ready to leave too. You and Mari go over and say goodbye to the twins, to which Atsumu said that he'll text you. You give him a thumbs-up and a smile, and then you hop on the train back to your hotel. You arrive back in your room and change into your pajamas. Mari has already fallen asleep again, so you take your phone out again to text Komori.

You put your phone on the nightstand not expecting a quick response, but your phone vibrates almost immediately after you set it down.

Komori: Yeah (ᗒᗨᗕ)

Did you get back okay?

You smile.

Yeah we did 😁

How about you?

Komori: I got back well too!

Komori: Yeah the semi-final is tomorrow
