Egil groggily awoke. His eyes widening as he found himself surrounded by strangers, confused and disoriented.

His head was pounding, and his body felt like lead. The submarine continued its relentless descent into the blackest depths, its pace as steady as his pounding heartbeat.

The darkness felt overwhelming and he felt as if he was being swallowed whole by the inky blackness which now encompassed him. His entire body ached, and he found himself staring up into the ceiling of somewhere unfamiliar, unable to remember how he had gotten there or who the people surrounding him were. In the distance, he heard the sound of the submarine's engine, slowly descending further and further down. But he was just too consumed by the pounding pain in his head, too lost in this strange void, that he didn't notice as the submarine dipped lower and lower, down into a darkness that seemed to have no end.

Egil struggled to get onto his feet as the submarine lurched and bounced around, his body weight shifting with the movement. The pounding of his headache continued as he shakily made his way to the controls of the vessel. He frantically flipped switches and turned knobs, desperately trying to steer the submarine to the surface, but to no avail. The submarine had been descending for so long that anything above seemed like it was simply just an endless abyss, and there was no sign of stopping now. He could see other passengers slowly starting to wake as well, all of them struggling with the same pain and disorientation that he was.

Egil's stomach churned with every abrupt adjustment, making him feel even more disoriented. He was used to flying planes, not driving a submarine. His headache continued to throb painfully and he could feel his body swaying with every movement. As the submarine continued its descent into the abyss, the feeling of hopelessness only grew stronger, and with it, the feeling of conplete helplessness.

The others around him started to stir, all of them just as confused and disoriented as he was. Though he wasn't exactly focused on any of them. The pounding of the engine rose louder with each passing moment, and Egil could feel his heart racing in his chest, beating in sync with the engine.

Despite his haze, Egil was startled by the sudden appearance of someone behind him, yelling in a desperate voice. The man had bandages covering much of his face, and had also blue, which looked like it was supposed to have been mixed with green, but also black hair for his fringe, which Egil found intriguing, and almost nostalgic in a way - though he couldn't tell why.

"Where are you taking us?!" The desperate shout and the sudden grab of his shoulder jolted Egil from his trance-like state.

"How the hell should I know?" Egil snapped, annoyed. "I saw the submarine was sinking and stepped in. Your welcome." He rolled his eyes, not having the patience to deal with anything right now. More focused on trying to get the submarine back to the surface. But again, Egil wasn't stupid. He knew it was getting him absolutely nowhere, but what else could he do other than try?

He took a moment to scan the other faces, noticing a girl with pink hair, a redhead with a bright yellow coat and an almost frail girl who looked like she was ready to burst into tears any minute now. But the one thing he was really focused on, and it and the shared panic that filled every single one of their eyes.

Egil's breath caught in his throat as his eyes settled on an almost familiar face. A brunette(ish) boy with long hair and a flower tattoo on his neck caught his attention, and he felt a sense of nostalgia sweep over him. Egil shook his own head dismissively and moved his attention to the window instead.
