Chris and I leave the restaurant together. There are a couple of people in front of us but we are pretty much not in hearing distance. We start walking to the club. late night new yorker streets near times square. Lights everywhere. It's beautiful.

It's gotten even colder than earlier. Without Matt's jacket i feel the cold wind making my whole body shiver. I wonder if Chris will give me his jacket. Wait no i shouldn't expect him to give it to me.

"Soo tell me y/n, how was your flight with Matt. Did get to know him a little bit?", Chris asks looking at me expectantly.

Oh god.
Should i tell him the truth? No! Or should I?

"The flight... oh well i don't know'' Fuck. I should just tell him the truth. ''It was okay... I haven't really talked to Matt a lot. I think we just don't really have anything to talk about. I think we just didn't really click. I don't know some things that he said... i still can't really tell what he meant and i don't think he likes me very much.''

Well that was an understatement y/n, but close enough. I just can't complain to Chris about his triplet brother too much. He is his family.

Chris looks at me surprised. ''Well actually I talked to Matt when he joined us at the table and he told me he likes you.'', he laughs, ''wait. not like like you. But he thinks you're cool. Matt is not really easy to talk to in the beginning. I think you just got the wrong idea, because you don't know him very well.'', he reassures me.

Would be nice. I certainly did not get the wrong idea. That is such a lie. Why would Matt lie to Chris like that? Maybe because he doesn't want to distract Chris from having fun. Chris told me how close he is to his triplet brothers and how high he values their opinion. They are always straight up to each other. Why would Matt lie like that. And after he was so rude to me earlier he even lied in my favor? Makes no sense to me.

''oh that's surprising. Maybe you're right.'' i answer. Let's stop talking about Matt pleasee. I need a break from him.

I don't say anything more to let the topic rest. Somehow silence between me and Chris is never cringy, we just don't talk for a minute and it's fine.

I look around the streets it's probably about 11 pm but somehow there aren't as many people as i had expected which is nice. It's kind of funny walking through the streets with such a big group of people. Some in front of us and some behind us.

Talking to Chris distracted me from the cold but now i'm freezing. Adding onto that is the pain that's slowly building because of the high heels that I'm wearing. I really picked the wrong shoes for new york. I'm uncomfortable. I just hope we are almost at the club.

I see the group of people in front of us entering a building. Chris suddenly stops. And i turn around to look at him.

''I want to warn you y/n'', Chris says, pulling out a box of cigarettes from his pocket. ''what? off what?'', i look at him with a slight smile. ''I will probably be here and there talking to a lot of people. Like always you know it's the club, it's normal to loose people or split up. But I want to see you in there! I will notice it if you leave early!'', he puts a cigarette between his lips and lights it up, ''And i'm going to get really mad it you leave'', he looks at me serious and takes a draw and then breaks into a laugh while exhaling. ''no, but on a serious note, please let me know when you leave. I want you to be safe. Don't leave alone. Come to me and i will escort you to an uber or something.''

''You make it seem as though this club is such a dangerous place'', i laugh. ''No it's not. Actually all the people there should be chill, but you never know... just make sure to come back to our restricted lounge every other hour or so'' Sweet of him to be so protective. ''Thanks for the warning. I will. Don't worry.''
