Still Maxine's pov

A few blocks away I stop, remembering Josh was on his bike and is behind me.

He stops beside me; "what's wrong?" He asks startling me.

"I'll tell you later" I tell him and resume rolling down the sidewalk.

A few minutes later we ride up to the steps leading up to the school entrance. I pick up my skateboard and swiftly head up the stairs. As soon as I'm up there I sit on the stone bench and watch Josh the green bike that I got him for Christmas up the stairs and finally sitting on the steps.

"Got it?" I ask as he hooks his bike up to the bike parking spot. "N-n-no." He studders out.

"How was your summer?" I ask him as he catches his breath.

"G-great i-i had m-my cousins— *deep breath*— o-over!" He says excitedly.

"Oh cool bro! Did you have you bf over at all this summer?" I ask.

His face goes into a deep red blush; "o-o-of course I d-did!" He says looking away unaware that I had already seen the blush on his face.

"Dude you're a seinor in highschool, you can't be afraid to tell me!—your BEST FRIEND!— about your love life!" I tell him.

Oh shit

That's when I see her. Melissa running up the stairs. She stops in front of me and stares for a few seconds before kissing me.

Wtf?!

"Fuck you asshole." She says and turns away. She walks over to the opposite bench and plops down on it while staring coldly at me.

After awhile she finally opens a book and starts reading. 'world true crime' I couldn't tell if I should be scared or aroused.

Somehow I was both.~

"W-what was t-that about?" Josh finally asks.

          I couldn't speak nor move.
