Forbidden Love

First Day

Nikole's POV

"Wake up Nikole" Conner shakes me, rubbing his eyes. "What do you want Conner?" I groan and pull the blanket over my face "Its 7:12 in the morning" but he rips the blanket right back down to my legs "Mom told me to wake you up for school" he replies, and I kick my legs in the air, pushing the blanket off me completely "fuck this" I say under my breath and get up, going to the bathroom. "Ooo I'm telling mom you cursed" Cooner says before I'm fully into the bathroom, so I run and grab him "I'll pay you ten bucks if you don't snitch" I whisper into his ear "Make it twenty" he grins "stup-" before I could finish my sentence, he cuts me off "Mom!" he yells out "Okay okay twenty, deal" I sigh, pulling a 20 dollar bill out of my drawer and dropping it into his sneaky hands "Thank you!!!" He snickers before leaving the room to leave me to get prepared. I finally have all my clothes in hand a minute later and I go to the bathroom, closing the door and turning on the shower. I remove my pajamas and walk into the warm water pouring to the dry shower floor. Once I'm in, the warm water runs down my face, making its way down to my legs and I let the water run over my hair. Then I pour conditioner on my hand, moisturizing my soft, curly hair.

After my shower I get dressed, putting on loose grey cargo pants, a tight white t-shirt, and a brown jacket. I make my way to the kitchen to see mom making toasted bread with a butter spread and eggs with bacon "Good morning mom" I smile and walk over to the counter, sitting on the edge "Morning sweetheart, you hungry?" She replies, putting toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon on a plate and passing it to me "very" I grab a fork and start eating. Dad then walks into the kitchen and places his briefcase on the ground next to his chair at the dining table. "Nikole, please get off the counter and eat at the dining table like a normal lady" he commands before sitting on his chair and scrolls on Facebook while waiting for his breakfast. I roll my eyes and get down from the counter, walking to the dining table and sitting down.

Conner then walks into the room with his backpack in hand and he throws it next to the front door. "Connie, are you excited for your first day as an eighth grader?" I question, taking a bite out of my toast "No, I hate school" He pouts "now son, hate is a strong word, you'll need school to get a better version of life when you grow up" Dad squeezes into the conversation "Fine" Conner sighs, pulling the plate mom gave give closer and takes a spoonful of the scrambled eggs. Dad also grabs his plate from mom and starts eating "Who wants orange juice?" Mom calls out "Me!" Conner and I say at the same time "get me a cup of water" Dad commands and puts his phone down as mom passes out the drinks and sits down at the dining table, eating breakfast herself and taking a sip of her orange juice.

"Niko, what about you, are you excited for your first day of senior year?" mom asks, putting her fork down and taking another sip from her cup and my mind travels to a part of me that is excited to see Mara "Yeah I guess, I can't wait to see OJ, I couldn't see him over the summer since he was in London, visiting his grandma for the summer" I say, putting my dish in the sink, as well as Conner putting his dishes too. "Time to go back to jail" Conner sighs, grabbing his backpack "It can't be that bad Conner, no need to be extra" mom laughs, grabbing her car keys "bye dad!" Conner and I yell before walking out the door "bye kids" he yells back before putting his and mom's dishes in the sink and going to the couch, awaiting his time to go to work.

In the car, Mom and I sing along to our song, I Want It That Way by Backstreet Boys, HER favorite band. "You are" I sing dramatically "My fire" Mom sings back "The one" I keep it going "Desire" Mom adds a dramatic ending "you guys are so corny" Conner says "But you love it" I smile and put my hand out for a high-five, but he stays quiet, smiling and gives me a high-five. A couple minutes later we get to my school first since Connie's school starts in a couple more minutes "Bye mom, bye Connie" I say before grabbing my bag and shutting the car door behind me.
