There was a knock on the door when Lucifer didn't say anything there was another knock, this time louder "ugh, leave me alone," he said in a groggily voice. Suddenly the door swung open, and footsteps approached until they stopped right beside his bed.
"Charlie told me-" The familiar radio voice came to a stop looking at Lucifer sitting up and rubbing his eyes "I love what you've done with your hair your royal highness." he snickered, holding his hand to his mouth.
"Fuck you, it's too early in the morning." he said feeling more self-cautious of his bed hair. he attempted to poorly make his hair with his hands.
"Actually," the voice continued, "you overslept. It's already 11:01 AM."
"Why didn't you wake me, you insufferable! —"
"But then," Alastor's voice interrupted, leaning in closer, his eyes turning into static. "I would have missed this delightful sight," he said with a dark smile and deep radio voice. Lucifer rolled his eyes. "Your daughter, Charlie, insisted I wake you. It seems there's a project she needs your help with."
"My Char Char needs me?" Lucifer's surprise gave way to determination. "Why didn't you say so earlier!" He practically leaped out of bed.
The taller looked at him head to toe, a playful glint in his eyes. "Is that your sleepwear?"
Lucifer glanced down at his duck-patterned pajamas. "What's wrong with it?"
"Nothing," the voice purred. "I just never imagined the mighty king in such a... vulnerable state."
"Vulnerable?" Lucifer snapped, his tone sharp. "Well, I'll have you know, I—"
"Shh," Alastor hushed him, leaning in to put his finger on Lucifer's lips. "Let's keep this our little secret. Now, go change." And with that, Alastor vanished, leaving Lucifer seething with anger. Everyone knew that ducks were his thing, and the audacity Alastor had in making fun of his duck pajamas was only rousing his anger.
Lucifer quickly swapped his pajamas for something more fitting, fixed his golden hair, and grabbed his cane. As he went off to help his Charlie. He found her at the first floor talking to everyone.
"Oh, and there he comes perfect timing dad we were just about to start our meeting!" Charlie said with her usual cherry attitude "so after the extermination I think that there are going to be more sinners wanting to join our little business so why not advertise our project more by..."
"Throwing a party!" Vaggie and Charlie say at the same time, but Vaggie says it more of in a weary tone.
"ooOoo will there be bad boys there!?" Niffty says while sharpening a knife she got out of nowhere husk who's sitting next to her starts scooching away over to Angel Dust as a call for help.
"Uh maybe?" Charlie says in response. "Anyway, continuing on. we are going to have to do a lot of preparations, so I have assigned each of you your own partner to get the job done quicker and to get to know the person you're working with better! now let's see." she pulls out a clipboard and starts reading out the names and everyone's jobs. "Angel Dust and Husk, you guys are going to set up decorations. Then, Alastor and Lucifer, you two are going to help make the menu. And Vaggie and I will send out invitations. And of course, we will be here if you need help with anything. And Niffty, you're going to be on pest control. Very well, let's get going then. And If you have any questions or problems, just ask me." Lucifer had a problem. he was not going to work with that radio demon. he walked over to Charlie.
"Uh hey Charlie I just have one really small problem."
"Yeah, what is it?" she asked looking curiously at Lucifer.
" soooo could you perhaps pair me with someone else?" Alastor looked over at Lucifer from afar. listening to their conversation.
"Oh, I paired you with Alastor because I Rember, you saying you guys were getting along so I thought that you guys could know each other better. did I misread it?"
Lucifer forgot that he said that shit. " Oh, YES! yes... uh I just meant that since Niffty needs to clean this ENTIRE place I should help her." he said trying to sound as convincible as possible he needed to get away with this.
"Actually, she just needs to clean this room because all the other rooms are already cleaned."
"Ah, got it. In that case, I'll go help Alastor. Thanks, Charlie," Lucifer replied, trying to hide his disappointment. Now he definitely wouldn't be able to avoid Alastor. He turned and slowly walked to where Alastor stood, taking his time dreading working with the demon.
"Looks like it's just you and me, Luci," Alastor said, seemingly unfazed by Lucifer's conversation with Charlie.
"Don't you dare call me that," Lucifer retorted sharply.
Alastor's grin widened as he enjoyed getting under the blonde's skin. "Oh, but it suits you so well," he teased.
"I said, don't call me that," Lucifer growled in a low tone, not wanting Charlie to overhear their disagreement.
"Oh, touchy, touchy," Alastor taunted, his smile widening into a predatory grin. "But if you insist, Lucifer," he replied, emphasizing the name slightly.
Lucifer's jaw clenched as he resisted the urge to lash out at the smirking demon. He hated how effortlessly Alastor seemed to provoke him, as if he relished every opportunity to see him squirm.
Alastor leaned in closer, his red eyes gleaming with amusement. "Now, now, no need to get all hot and bothered," he continued, his voice dripping with faux concern. "We've got work to do, after all."
Lucifer gritted his teeth, his patience wearing thin. He knew Alastor was deliberately pushing his buttons, but he couldn't afford to lose his temper, not when Charlie was watching.
"Let's just get this over with," Lucifer muttered through clenched teeth, his tone laced with frustration.
"As you wish, Your Highness," Alastor replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Lead the way."
With a sigh, Lucifer turned and began to walk, Alastor falling into step beside him. He could feel the demon's eyes on him, studying him with unnerving intensity.
"So, Luci," Alastor began, his tone casual. "Tell me, how does it feel to be back in the spotlight after all these years? I must say, you seem to be adjusting quite well."
Lucifer shot him a glare, his fists clenching at his sides. He hated how Alastor always seemed to know just what to say to get under his skin.
"It's none of your business," Lucifer snapped, his voice sharp with irritation.
Alastor chuckled, the sound sending a shiver down Lucifer's spine. "Oh, but it is my business, Lucifer," he replied, his tone low and menacing. "After all, we demons must stick together, mustn't we?"
Lucifer resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He knew Alastor's words were nothing but empty flattery, meant to manipulate and control.
"Just stay out of my way, Alastor," Lucifer warned, his voice low and dangerous. "Or else."
Alastor's grin widened into a sinister smile. "Or else what, Luci?" he taunted, his eyes flashing with malevolence. "You'll throw a temper tantrum like a spoiled child?"
Lucifer's hands curled into fists, his nails digging into his palms. He hated how Alastor always seemed to have the upper hand, how he could reduce him to a seething mess with just a few words.
Lucifer's lip curled in a snarl, his eyes burning with fury. "You have no idea what I'm capable of, Alastor," he spat, his voice dripping with venom.
"Perhaps," Alastor replied, his tone deceptively calm. "But I know one thing for certain, Luci. You'll never be able to outsmart me." And with that, Alastor sauntered away, leaving Lucifer seething with rage and frustration. Despite his best efforts to maintain his composure, he couldn't shake the feeling that Alastor had gotten the better of him once again.
