Judith's POV

So,Sir Daniel thinks he can humiliate me,especially in front of that good for nothing black beast of a girl called Bessie. I am not surprised, I'm sure that backstabber Vera is behind this. I never liked her. Trying to act all holy in the eyes of people and nearly took a position I deserve. She had to play the good guy and 'hand' over the position to me. I even wonder what the Jones family sees in her.
and now Bessie too, has won some kind of favour from Daniel. I should be the one he listens to. He should be defending me. Why act like a puppy listening to whatever Vera says? I wonder what is going on. After the incident,where he told me not to make Bessie work,I have been keeping a close eye on her,something is definitely going on. I wish I knew. And now,I saw Daniel head to Bessie's room.
I definitely have to go find out why he happens to defend her all the time. It might be useful for me. I got to the door just in time to hear Daniel's voice asking for someone's hands in marriage. What the hell! A female voice gasped,no mistaking it is Bessie's. The voice said yes. What is going on. Why is Sir Daniel asking Bessie to marry her? Especially when almost everyone in London knows that he is betrothed to the duke's daughter. No,I won't allow it.
Whatever reasons he has for marrying her, I will not allow it to jeopardise my plan. If Daniel marries Anna,I become the head of servants in the duke's castle. I know because Anna just likes me. I'll have many servants working under me. Why would he marry a black girl. Unless Vera is behind it. That sly witch! Warming her way into the hearts of the Jones family, and now she has Daniel at her beck and call. Now she is using Bessie. I have to do something. Lady Anna will be the wife of Daniel Jones,either by hook or by crook.
No wonder he is always there to defend her. They have an affair. This is going to work to my advantage. Since Vera is closer to Daniel, she will take the blame of brainwashing him to be with a black girl. She would soon be out of the picture, and I would have the house to myself. I need a plan. This marriage won't come on. I quickly left the door with a grin on my face. I know just what to do. With a satisfied idea,I hummed a sweet melody to myself.

Daniel's POV

After she said yes,I was overjoyed.i hugged herbon impulse, and she reciprocated. I nearly shed tears,but I held it back because I am a man. I held her at arms length,looking lovely at her as she bowed her head in a shy manner.i sat her down slowly with my hands once again on her tummy,it had a slight bump.

"You hear that baby,Mama said yes."

I spoke to the bump. And raised my head to meet Bessie in the eye. She looked so beautiful. My brain stopped functioning, and I leaned close to her.she fluttered her eyes close. Slowly, my eyes went to lips, and without thinking, I pressed my lips gently to hers, she feels so soft. I started moving my mouth towards hers. When I noticed that she wasn't responding, I pulled back. She opened her eyes to stare at me,with so much innocence that it clicked. She has never kissed anyone before. Amd the night I hurt her,I never kissed her. I felt stupid.

"Uhm,I'm sorry, Bessie. I shouldn't have done that,especially since you've never kissed before."

"It's okay,maybe...I uh..I could learn."

"Woah,really?"

"Yes."

I leaned closer again and whispered softly.

" You just have to trust your instincts and copy what I do."

She nodded. Then I pressed my lips on hers once more. And this time, she responded, shyly, slowly. I continued to move my mouth against hers,feeling her soft mouth. She got a hang of it, and when she accidentally opened her mouth,I slipped my tongue inside,teasing her,playing with her,with my hands slowly caressing her face.
It felt like Nirvana, I fell in love even more. She has soft lips,and her innocence made me start to think of naughty things. I had to control myself. Reluctantly,I pulled out,taking in deep breaths,with our foreheads together,and our eyes closed.

"I'm sorry,I just.. I don't want to lose control,I want you to feel comfortable. I know you're still scared. I do not want to hurt you. I'm sorry."

"It's okay."

I opened my eyes to look at her. I can't believe I am in love with the most beautiful girl in the world.

"What are you thinking about?"

"You're beautiful, and I'm truly sorry that I hurt you."

She looked at me,and smiled a small smile.

"It's okay."

She spoke softly. Vera then came in and was surprised to see us together. She turned to look at me

"Oh,you're here. I was looking for you."

"I uh,about that. I asked Bessie to marry me, and she said yes."

"Oh my,that is great. Oh, I'm so happy for you. Bessie dear, you'll soon be a Jones. It's the right thing to do. I'm so proud of you, Daniel. But before that,no funny business. I mean it, Daniel."

She looked at me a certain way, and I knew she caught us kissing earlier.

"Sure, Vera. I promise."

She nodded. Her face was bursting with smiles.

"I'm so excited."

She sqealed.

"We have to keep it a secret for now,Vera. As much as I want the whole world to know that Bessie is my soon-to-be wife,I want it to be all hush hush until I can figure out a way to make society not see it as a tabboo"

"Of course, of course. Just know I am with you all the way."
