Chapter 02

Nova di Angelo

I walked up to the dinner pavilion being led by Clarisse and she murmured to me where to sit, I nodded and went over to Zeus's cabin table. After a few minutes Percy came over to my table and slipped onto the bench across from me carrying his empty plate and goblet. "How do these work?" I asked.

"Just tell it what you want and it'll magically fill with whatever you requested, non-alcoholic of course. Blue Cherry Coke." He said, directing the last part towards his goblet.

Suddenly the goblet filled with a bright blue soda, Percy tried it and smiled with satisfaction. "Go ahead and try it." He said.

I looked at my goblet. "Hot pink Dr Pepper." I said.

Suddenly the goblet filled with hot pink soda, I tried it and purred with happiness.

"What about the plates?" I asked.

"Same thing, you try it first this time." He said.

I looked at my plate nervously. "Homemade brisket." I said.

The plate filled with brisket that looked like my mama's old recipe, I looked up and saw that Percy's plate was filled with some sort of Italian food. "What's that?" I asked.

"Homemade biscotti, my mama used to make it with shredded cheese melted on top and it was the best thing ever. This is as close as I can get." He said wistfully.

"Sorry.... I didn't mean to stir up memories." I apologized.

"It's alright." He said.

"Wait! You aren't supposed to be sitting here!" I exclaimed.

"We're both alone because my sister is at the Roman camp so we can sit together if we want to." Percy explained.

Just then Chiron and Mr D walked onto the pavilion and sat down at the head table. "Peter Johnson come here." Mr D said.

Percy rolled his eyes and got up then walked over to him. "Zeus told me to pass on a message, you're supposed to stay away from his daughter." Mr D said loudly so all of the campers could hear.

Suddenly a ten foot chasm opened up under the table Mr D was sitting at and swallowed the table whole then closed. "Tell Zeus that if he doesn't like something I do that he needs to quit hiding behind his children and tell me himself or he can stick his lightning bolt up his podex." Percy said icily.

Everyone in the pavilion stared at Percy in surprise as he whipped around and stormed out of the pavilion, I stood and followed him into the woods. After several hours I noticed that I was cold and my teeth were chattering, I stared into the woods worriedly then turned around and walked the other way. Thalia came running up once I got to the stream. "Thank the gods!" She cried out.

I looked back hoping to see Percy but I saw nothing. "Were you guys looking for me?" I asked.

"Yes! Didn't Clarisse tell you not to go into the woods alone and unarmed?! There are all kinds of monsters in here!" Thalia exclaimed, looking me over worriedly.

"I wasn't alone Thalia, I followed Percy into the woods and didn't notice the passing time." I said.

Thalia cursed quietly. "We need to get out of here if Percy is in here. NOW." She said grabbing my arm and tugging me closer to the stream.

Just then I noticed deep purple eyes that were almost the color of obsidian watching us carefully, they were so dark I didn't see them earlier. "What's that?" I asked.

Thalia followed my gaze then cursed Hades and shifted me behind her then took a defensive stance in front of me. "Nova you need to run, get to Clarisse as fast as you can while I distract him." She said.
