Chapter 9: sharing fruits by night

{Lorraine sighs and looks you up and down:} "you definitely know how to appreciate beauty when you see it"

You nod

{you look at lorraine:} "i love appreciating beautiful things.... and beautiful people too... it's like a urge..."

{Lorraine's voice gets quieter:} "like a urge to appreciate beautiful things and people, you say?"

All you do is nod as your eyes wander over her face

{you let out a little sigh:} "yes, and i'm really holding back right now"

Lorraine's eyes widen and her mind races. Are you holding back the urge to appreciate her beauty right now, or is she on the wrong page, how is she supposed to get that

{You speak out loud:} "you deserve to be appreciated too, you know?"

Oh, Lorraine is definitely on the same page as you are right now.

Her heart races, she doesn't know how to answer. She met you two days ago, you're half her age and her daughters best friend too, she could never flirt back, she's too old for you.

{She gulps and tears her eyes away from you:} "It's getting late, I think we should go back home,"

Your heart breaks a little as Lorraine just ignored you like that but you don't let it show and just nod.

You walk back home in silence, there is a thick tension between the two of you.

You feel like Lorraine feels something for you too but you don't have the courage to speak to her about it.

Meanwhile Lorraine's mind is a mess as she tries to form logical thoughts about you and how she feels about you.

She's confused, she knows that she likes you a little more than she should and she feels wrong and guilty for doing so since you're more than half her age and her daughters friend, but you make her feel so wanted in a way no one did before.

Once you both arrive back at the house, Lorraine goes to straight to her bedroom without saying a single word to you.

{You look a little confused and call after her:} "good night?"

You talk with Judy for hours, mostly she's talking and telling you about that one guy from her college course but your thoughts only evolve around Lorraine and her strange behaviour on the way home.

You listen to judy for hours until she gets tired and you go into the guest bedroom too and get ready for bed.

After lying in bed for hours, just staring at the ceiling and thinking about Lorraine and how you maybe made her uncomfortable.

You get a little thirsty and walk into the kitchen. Once in the kitchen you see Lorraine sitting at the counter, eating a bowl of fruits and seeming lost in thoughts.

You clear your throat and walk to the fridge where you grab a little water bottle.

Lorraine gets startled by your sudden presence in the kitchen and quickly clears her throat and sits up straight

{You let out a chuckle:} "sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, I'm just a little thirsty"

Lorraine can't help but Crack a smile

{Lorraine grabs a blueberry:} "it's fine, i just didn't notice you coming in. You can't sleep either, can you?"

{You nod:} "yes, I have a lot of things on my mind"

Lorraine pats the stool next to her and motions for you to sit down. You don't hesitate for even a moment and sit down.

{Lorraine sighs and offers you some fruits:} "want a little snack?"

{You smile and take a raspberry:} "how could I say no?"

Lorraine watches you as you take the berry to your mouth and eat it. She feels a tingle in her chest as she watches the way you lick your lips.

{She keeps staring at your lips as she blurts out:} "tell me, were you flirting with me in the art gallery?"

{Your face reddens and your next answer takes up all your courage:} "how would you react if i were to tell you that I did try to flirt with you?"

At your answer Lorraine just raises one eyebrow and as if in some sort of trance, Lorraine puts a strawberry between your lips. You look a little confused, but don't stop her, and without saying another word, she leans in and presses her lips against yours.

Your heart skips a beat and you just sit there in shock as Lorraine bites off the strawberry.

{Lorraine pulls back, licks her lips and smiles:} "what? You asked how I would react and I showed you my reaction, darling."

You look surprised, positively surprised and just grab another strawberry and put it between your lips.

Lorraine takes this as an invitation and grabs you by the chin, pulls you in and bites down on the strawberry and nibbles a little on your lower lip.

You put your hands into her hair and kiss her passionately, you feel like you're in heaven as Lorraine wraps her other arm around you.

You can't help but pull Lorraine in even closer and kiss her until you both run out of breath and have to pull away.

{Lorraine speaks breathlessly:} "this feels so right, like we are meant to do this."

{You let out little shaky laugh:} "I know what you mean. It feels like we're bound to be, like we're made for each other."

{Lorraine kisses your neck and whispers:} "I'm so glad you feel this way"

Your eyes fluttered close and you wrap your arms around Lorraine's neck.

Lorraine kisses your whole face before kissing you on the lips. You immediately kiss her back, still not really believing that this is happening right now.

Only 2 more chapters left. I'm a little sad that the story will end soon but every story has to come to an end eventually, hopefully this one will come to a good end...
