I cried out as she lost her balance and plunged into the water. I extended my hand into the lake, trying to help her, but she wasn't coming back up.
Bubbles vigorously arose to the surface of the water, as she tried to scream. She was losing breath. Her arms flailed as she tried to swim upwards, but her foot was stuck on a branch, pulling her back down.
I focused on the water, and suddenly saw her face, displaying feelings of pure torture.
I cried out again, right before I closed my eyes, sucked up my breath, and jumped into the water, in an attempt to save her.
