"You were sold"
"They bought you just for a child......"
These words have been tormenting her since morning, since Zafiq exposed the hidden truth of so many years.
Zafiq had to leave abruptly as he got an urgent call. Before going he promised her that he will come back again and make everything right.
But she knew nothing will be right. She lived her whole life on lies. The house that she considered as her own, the children she loved more than her own life, the husband she spent her life with hope of his love.... nothing was rightfully hers. She wasn't entitled to these things.
She was not only an unwanted wife...but also an unwanted daughter-in-law and a mother....she wasn't supposed to be. But unfortunately she became one and along with that became an unwanted human being as well.
"Ammi bhug lagi hai"
She wiped her tears as fast as she could and turned around to find her twin... Adil and Amir standing at the doorstep. They were back from school.
"You go and freshen up, I'm coming" She passed a small smile to her children and quickly made her way towards the bathroom.
.
.She didn't feel like to step out the room for dinner. Sitara had come to call her but she just gave an excuse of being tired and wanted to take some rest. She didn't know how her Nadia phuphu or in-laws will react to her disobedience as she never dared to come to sleep before everyone in the house retired to their own bedroom.
But today she did....and surprisingly she didn't care for the consequence.
She just didn't want to face them for a while. She couldn't even spend a good amount of time with her children in fear that They will ask her unanticipated questions and she will not be able to answer when she herself didn't ask anything to the elders about this topic.
She first needed to process everything.
Excruciating pain in the stomach overshadowed the poignant pain piercing her heart. She sometimes wonder if pain became an integral part of her life...be it either physical or mental. Apart from menstrual cramps, she often would feel a dull, one-sided ache in her upper stomach area, side or back, bone pain, muscle cramps, vomiting and easily got fatigued.
Today, after many days, she was attacked by stomach pain again. And this time the pain was much more severe compared to other days. Such intense and unbearable that neither was she able to get up and take painkiller, nor could she endure the pain.
It was past midnight and was raining torrentially. Jahan got soaked to the skin in the pouring rain when he returned home. Everyone was sound asleep, so without making noise he went to his room and no sooner he stepped inside his room was thunderstruck to see her, his wife lying unconscious on the ground.
Unexpectedly his heart thudded in a wild rhythm, anxious about what might had happened to her. The room was completely disorganised and so was her condition and now his mental state also became disorganised.
He walked towards her, bent down to the floor and gently removed the bed sheet from her tight hold. Her face was still tear-stained which told that she probably had cried for a long time. Their room was soundproofed, maybe that's why no one could hear her anguished cries.
"Hey.." "Suno.." He had called her for some time to get up but she wouldn't budged. Still unconcious.
He couldn't call a doctor as it was raining cats and dogs. His relationship with his family already had died years ago. He wouldn't talk to them even after months without any urgent need and after the slight revelation of the truth behind his marriage with Jannat he couldn't bring himself to behave with them cordially.
