// before i start, i just wanna say i was reminded of an old chat fic i wrote in 2022 about aether x all, and i haven't played genshin since LOL. i was just reminded of it and i remembered how much i loved writing it, so im rewriting it (:. im not familiar with fontaine characters and not rlly sumeru characters either, so pls bare with me if they aren't written correctly! they won't be added yet, probably in the future. hsr charas might be added (though, probably not shipped with aether, just for background or plot), btw this is set in university! lowercase intended

after persistent begging from lumine, aether agreed to transfer to his sisters university. he was extremely anxious about the change, but he knew the change was vital for him. his old university destroyed his mental health, from having to be a biology major (major mistake, thank god he chose psychology when transferring to this university), to having the worst boyfriend, now ex-boyfriend, on planet earth.

aether's anxiety was also lightened by the fact his sister promised to hook him up with a friend group. apparently she had a bunch of friends of different personalities, due to her interesting variety of classes, so aether had many to chose from when it came to settling into a friend group.

lumine also promised aether that if he felt uncomfortable with her friends, he could always tag along with her and her girlfriend. although, he didn't like the idea of being a third wheel. or watching his sister suck face with her girlfriend. gross.

speaking of lumine, he was getting a call from his fiery twin. he smiled fondly when he saw her name and contact picture, a photo of them together in elementary in matching halloween costumes.

"AETHER!" aether immediately took a step back when he heard his sisters obnoxiously loud voice.

"uhm.. what?"

"my friends want me to add you to a group chat! there's a few group chats actually, but i can probably make a huge one with all of em. yknow what- i will, i won't even ask because i don't care. text in the chat when ive created it! thanks LOVE YA!"

before aether could get a word in, his sister hung up. he sighed dramatically, she was such a ball of energy. though, he was excited to text these new people! excited and scared. mostly excited. he thinks.

before long, aether received a notification. he smiled, seeing the groupchat lumine created he began reading the chats, and typing his own introduction.

lumine: hey guys!!

lumine: srry for new gc

lumine: i know some of u guys hate each other but be civil!! it's for sunshine

childe: SUNSHINE??

childe: is he on campus yet?

aether: lumine did u tell these ppl my name is sunshine.

lumine: LOL NO that's just ur code name

aether: why do i need a code name???

albedo: Welcome to Teyvat University, Aether. If you need anybody to give you a tour, I'm always available.

childe: not lil bro thinking he got first dibs

kaeya: seriously, albedo. super low. you knew how much i wanted to give him a tour!!

lumine: u guys have fun fighting over him

lumine: aether, ur good on ur own now! there's a couple others that haven't introduced themselves, but i put my trust in albedo to help u meet them

lumine: i'm leaving this gc! HAVE FUN BOYS!!!

and with that, lumine left the groupchat to laugh with her girlfriend, shenhe. lumine loved created unnecessary drama, and she knew her brother would be in insane drama in the upcoming months.

lumine secretly hoped aether would chose diluc, but he wasn't even responding yet! probably put his phone on do not disturb, but she'll make sure to let him know about the group chat in their next class together. shenhe argued that xiao would be the best boyfriend, that even though he's cold and rude, once you get to know him he's a sweet, protective guy.

whoever he chose, they'd respect the decision. unless it was itto.
