Ask The StarsIn the dark of the night, Jeong Taera was running so fast in the shadows of the buildings around her. Few men were chasing after, aiming and shooting their guns at her.
"Shit!" Taera cursed when the bullet scratched her arm, making it bleed under her all black suit.
Taera stopped for a while when she realized that she was cornered and met a dead end. She took a step backward and jumped up to the wall up to the rooftop of the house. She hid herself and aimed her gun at the men who chased her.
Dorr... dorr...
Two men fall. And the others aimed their guns at Taera and shot.
Taera rolled herself before jumping off the rooftop and ...
"Cut!!!"
The shout from the director made Taera sighed with relief. She stood up immediately and her staff ran to her to give her the jacket. "Thank you," she said.
"That was good, Taera-ya." The director approached Taera and she nodded and said thanks.
"Is it enough for this scene then, Director?" She asked.
"Yes, it's enough. We can move to the next scene. Hmmm, but your scene is over for today."
"Yes. But I think I will stay for a bit longer to monitor here."
"Keurae. But don't overdo yourself. We need to work hard tomorrow as well."
Teara just smiled and nodded, "Arraseo."
When the director left, Taera also walked away from the set to her changing room.
"Did you record me?" Taera asked her staff.
"Ne, Unnie. This." Joobin, handed a phone to Taera. "Director Lee seems so satisfied with the scene."
Taera played the video Joobin recorded. "Hmmm, I think I did a good job tonight."
Before reaching her changing room, Taera suddenly stopped and looked at the sky.
"Wae geurae, Eonni?" Joobin, who followed behind her, asked.
"The sky, full of stars and that full moon shining so beautifully." Taera whispered without even taking away her gaze from the night sky above.
Joobin looked above too and nodded, "Woaahh, you're right, Eonni. The sky is so pretty."
"Joobin-ah, when will the next scene filming start?"
Joobin looked at her watch, "Maybe around thirty minutes again." She turned herself to look around the set, "They were setting the set and some extras are already getting ready in their position. Why? Are you changing your mind and wanna go to the hotel? Director Lee wouldn't mind if you chose to leave early tho, he permits you already."
Taera took a deep breath. She was weighing. "Suddenly I felt like not staying to monitor the scene."
"That's alright, Eonni. Then I will pack our belongings in the changing room. Do you want to wait for me in our van or follow me?"
"I will wait for you here, Joobin-ah. I feel like enjoying the night sky."
Joobin nodded and then left Taera alone.
Taera found a made up wood bench near there. So she sat herself on that bench and looked at the deep blue sky that was full of stars and the full moon shone. The chilly breeze made her shiver a little bit, but that was refreshing for her. Her memory was wandering away to a long long time ago when she was far younger. To someone that introduced her to the stars in the sky.
The "someone" once said, "If you're longing for someone, ask the stars, and they'll tell that person so they can feel your longing."
Taera smiled, and whispered to the stars "I miss you. I miss you so much. Can you feel it? Can you please come back to me?"
Suddenly she felt hot in her eyes as she teared up. The emotion of hurtful longing, and the doubt if all those stars really could deliver her message filled her. It wasn't her first time asking the start to send her messages and feelings to the "someone". She did so many times. Yet, those messages remain unanswered.
"You're a liar. You ever come back to me no matter how much I beg you to come."
"Eonni," Joobin called for Taera, "Let's go. We're ready to go. Eonni are you okay? Why are you crying?!"
Taera dabbed her tears, "Aniyo. I'm just memorizing my script. Let's go Joobin-ah, I'm so tired and need a lot of sleep." She stood up and walked to where their van was parked.
Before entering her van, Taera looked at the sky once again, and said inside her heart, "I'm not angry nor regretful with you. I'm just missing you so much. Please take care wherever you're now. I know you're longing for me as well. The stars tell me everything."
