Whispered Lullaby

Sunlight, dappled by the sheer curtains, painted warm stripes across the bed. Newwiee snuggled deeper into the warmth beside him, a contented sigh escaping his lips. Tay's arm, draped loosely across his waist, was a comforting presence, an anchor in the gentle sway of sleep deprivation. The soft rise and fall of Pleum's breaths, a rhythmic counterpoint to the symphony of crickets chirping outside, filled the room with a quiet magic. A soft whimper, however, shattered the peaceful scene. It was a familiar sound, a tiny plea for attention that tugged at Newwiee's heartstrings. Pluem, with his oversized eyes wide and innocent, was staring up at Newwiee from his crib.

"Papa up?" Pluem asked in a sweet and small voice, his thumb already firmly planted in his mouth.

Newwiee's lips curved into a sleepy smile. "Good morning, little one," he murmured, reaching out to scoop Pluem into his arms and settle him between Tay and him. The alpha babe snuggled against his chest with a contented sigh.

At the same time, Tay stirred. His face, usually etched with steely determination, softened as he watched the scene unfold. "Morning, sunshine," he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep. "Already up causing trouble?" he added playfully, reaching out to tickle Pluem's tummy.

Pluem squealed with delight, wriggling in Newwiee's arms. The exhaustion from the previous night melted away as the sound of their son's laughter filled the room. The penthouse apartment, usually a testament to Tay Tawan's steely efficiency, was currently a symphony of gurgling laughter and the rhythmic clatter of a toy rattle and he wouldn't exchange this warm morning for anything.

Tay chuckled, carefully taking Pluem into his embrace. The little Pluem snuggled against his broad chest, his eyes fluttering closed contentedly.
"Looks like someone missed his papa," Tay said, bouncing Pleum gently.

Newwiee leaned back against the plush headboard, a contented sigh escaping his lips despite the dark circles under his eyes. The soft fabric yielded comfortably beneath him, mirroring the sense of peace that (almost) settled over him. "He kept me up most of the night, the little rascal," Newwiee mumbled, his voice thick with sleep. "Teething troubles, I think."

"Don't worry, love," Tay said, his voice soothing as he swayed their little champ. "We'll tag team today. You get some rest, and I'll handle our little prince." Newwiee knew Tay had a crucial board meeting later that morning, but the alpha dismissed his concerns with a wave of his hand. "Nothing is more important than our family," he said, his gaze filled with unwavering love.

The morning unfolded in a delightful blur. Tay, surprisingly adept at changing diapers and making silly faces to elicit giggles, kept Pleum entertained. Newwiee, finally catching up on some sleep, felt a surge of warmth watching them. Despite the challenges of raising their babe, moments like these were pure bliss.

Later, after a breakfast of pureed vegetables and giggles (courtesy of Pleum's enthusiastic exploration of the highchair tray), Tay received a call from Khun Ying, his ever-efficient assistant. "Mr. Tawan," Khun Ying's voice crackled through the speaker, "the board meeting is in an hour. Is everything under control?"
Tay glanced at Pleum, now happily gnawing on a teething ring, and then back at Newwiee, who was attempting to braid Pleum's wispy hair (a task quickly turning into a comical battle of wills).

He chuckled into the phone. "Let's just say things are... lively this morning, Khun Ying. Would it be possible to reschedule the meeting for later today?"
A surprised silence followed, then a hesitant, "Of course, Mr. Tawan. But perhaps a video conference from your... home office?"
Tay's smile widened. "Excellent suggestion, Khun Ying. Thank you."

He ended the call and turned to Newwiee, a playful glint in his eyes. "Looks like we're having a family meeting, love. Boardroom style."
Newwiee raised an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at his lips. "Just make sure Pleum doesn't drool on any important documents, Tay ."
