(Woohoo! New book and all, have fun reading this one.)

Before there was anything, there was nothing—not an ounce of light nor dark. It was blank, cold, and deadly silent. To be left in such a state would drive any sane soul mad, but there was nothing. Then, with a thunderous crack, an explosion of infinite intensity exploded through the dark void and created the first light. The aftermath, some say, can still be heard if you listen to the stars closely. But in the center of the explosion was a ball of fire. The self-burning ball of fire met with the darkness of the void, and together they clashed. An unrelenting force matches an unmovable object. Slowly but surely, they pushed up against each other and swirled against each other like dancing ballerinas. Swirling and swirling and swirling till the darkness cooled the burning embers.

This formed the rock that would later be referred to as "Earth," the ball of fire, whether by its own will or complete accident, Opened its side and shot out a pure orange formless blob that came blasted down onto the lifeless rock, and from the darkness, it's infinite jaws widen and it shoots out a black formless blob that skyrocketed on the other side of the rock. Both blobs wiggled and writhed as they attempted to try and even understand what was happening around them. The orange blob was the first to take form, and arms shot out from its side as its form condensed down to slowly take the shape of a dog. Slowly but surely, the formless blob now formed its first appearance, a tall and rather built canine. His white eyes was burning with both new-found excitement and curiosity.

The black blob took its time, slowly taking on the shape of a much smaller feline. Its dark skin started to slowly turning purple like the stars of its birthplace's stars. Its own white eyes had the look of fear and caution, now with two beings that resided on this rock. They both turned the opposite sides of each other and began to walk. The orange shape left burned-up footprints, while the purple left cold and icy ones. They traveled for a long time, examining both the stars and the ground they took their first steps on. Only shortly after finding each other's footsteps, both were shocked and curious to see who else was here. They both began to run around the planet. Eagerly searching for one another, till one day they both saw each other on the horizon.

They were both now filled with fear, curiosity, and so much wonder. Slowly, they began to walk to each other, and slowly, they were both standing in front of each other. The orange blob loomed over the much smaller purple blob. They both stared at each other for what felt like ages, studying and staring at each other. But once they looked into each other's eyes, their bodies and minds began to fill up with something else. They leaned into each other, and their lips clashed together as they kissed.

Life sprung from the planet, grass began to erupt from the ground, and trees popped up left and right. Water seeped out of the bedrock and filled the missing area; life was born from their first kiss. That's when the first emotion was created—"love,""Love" they would call it. Not for any particular reason, but they both had gut feelings; that's what it was. The rest of their days were filled with joy and excitement; they played together. Chasing each other up and down the grassy hills of this newly found world, they played hide and seek in the large and lush forests. Swam and splashed each other in the grand and beautifully cool oceans.

During these times, they began to speak; at first, it was simply primal words and noises. But over time, they began to speak coherently, forming the first sentences and phrases. They began to come up with names for each other. Ranging from colors to different, oddly specific shapes, One day, the purple blob began to call the orange one "Dogday," and for what reason, both didn't know. However It stuck, and the orange blob decided to name him something similar. So he referred to the purple blob as "Catnap." And it has been their names ever since.
