Saya and Katie tried catching up with me after the lesson, even getting Billy and Willie after me.

I just ignored them and walked back to my room, shutting the door behind me and locking it so Katie wouldn't come in.

I decided if Marcus is gonna be a pain. I will just be a pain back.

It was the weekend. I was free. I went over to my wardrobe and looked for some clothes.

I grabbed one and smirked to myself. I rushed to the bathrooms instead of our one because I didn't want to face Katie that morning.

So I rushed in and locked myself in a cubicle. I walked out and admired my fit in the mirror.

I wore a short skirt with my holster strapped as always to my thigh. This time, I pulled up my skirt so the holster and the dagger were showing.

I had an oversized blue jumper with the words I don't care written on. I had big hoop earrings and a black choker.

I pulled my hair up into a ponytail. Nah, I pulled it out and had it down. That's better.

As I walked out, I bumped into Marcus. He looked me up and down before shoving past me.

I turned around, pulling our my dagger. I shoved him to the ground and sat on him, pulling his arms tightly to his chest with my legs.

I giggled and held the dagger to his throat. Saya came running in. She gasped at the sight but quickly snapped out to help.

She grabbed me and pulled me off. I wriggled hard. I needed to kill him after everything he had done.

"Thanks, Saya." Marcus said, not looking up at me. I screamed, and Saya loosened her hold. I ran out of the bathroom in a rage.

I sat on my bed, legs crossed, fiddling with my dagger. Occasionally scratching myself by accident.

Saya came in and sat down next to me.

"Y/n, you need to hear the full story." Saya said, pleading. I rolled my eyes and turned my head the other way.

"OK, fine, I will just tell you anyway. Marcus got a note slid under his door one night, and it said to not talk to you. Otherwise, you are dead. Get it?" She said quickly.

I snapped my head round to her. I stood up and raced out of my room. I had to find Marcus. I ran in and out of corridors, weeving through the pupils. I knocked on Marcus's door.

"Who's there." Came Marcus's voice. I trembled. Instead of answering, I carried on knocking. I heard him sigh as he came to the door.

As soon as I saw it opening, I flung myself into his room and slammed the door shut behind me. My body pinned to the door as I looked at Marcus.

"I know, Marcus." Was all I said. He turned around and sat down on his bed. I stayed where I was.

"Please, you don't have to do this!" I said.

"If I don't, then they will kill you." Marcus said back, still not looking at me. I sighed.

"I can handle them. You know me. They want you to stay away from me because you are a threat to them. It means they could get me more easily without having to think about you." I said in one breath.

Marcus looked up, staring at me. A small smile played at my lips. He smiled back. I had missed him so much. I threw myself into his arms and hugged him tightly.

Willie walked in.

"Woah, have I interrupted something?" He said teasingly. I jumped back and pulled away from Marcus.

I shook my head vigorously. Marcus laughed.

"So innocent." He said. I laughed and fell back onto his bed.

The next day, I got into the same clothes and walked up to Katies bed, shaking her awake.

"Hey, sleepy head, let's go to the roof the others are meeting there at half eight." I whispered in her ear.

"Hey, early bird." She replied and rolled out of bed.
