This book is getting more and more un-adopt book. It's not even like I put anything on here anymore. Anyways, here's my character, Solarfeather! I will upload a picture of him if I can make Wattpad allow me to post a picture on here, but for now it's just a bio page. Enjoy!
Name - Alevin
Name meaning - Newly hatched salmon
Tribe - SeaWing
Abilities - Breathe underwater, night vision, bioluminescent scales, powerful tail
Age - 57
Gender - Male
Sexuality - Pansexual
Personality -
Overall - Alevin is one who at first glance, you would think- huh. He's pretty friendly, welcoming, and a tad bit odd. Alevin would open up the door to his sea cave home to anyone, either hurt or visiting, old or young. He tends to keep his cool, and the only type of 'anger' you would experience from him is pure out disappointment. Alevin does his best to make others feel at home, but it sometimes takes a little effort, and ends up with him wishing to be alone with his frogs. He isn't that talkative, instead being the listener and mediator of the group, except Alevin prefers working independently, so there's no group. And that's when the flaws start kicking in. He's strict and takes critiquing to the next level, and gets the heebie-jeebies when something is out of place. Alevin's quietness often makes dragons feel like he's cold and shy, which makes them feel uncomfortable, or intruding. He tries to cover up those assumptions, hoping others will start accepting him. Alevin was wrong. Instead, he worked on becoming happier and more joyous, and sugarcoating a thin line of cheerful and loud over his usual silent and calculating traits.
Good traits - Welcoming, curious, patient, open-minded, friendly
Bad traits - Shy, gullible, self-critic, fears failing other's standards, independent
Backstory -
Background - Alevin grew up with both parents in the servant rank, so they were too busy with their jobs to ever properly spend a whole day with their son. He spent his earlier years first in the hatchery, playing with other dragonets, eating and sleeping there. At the tender age of four, he was moved to a different place, away from childhood friends, and into a small boarding school for other dragons of his age. It was all work and no time for play, so Alevin was glad when he reached the age of seven and the teachers decided they were all too old for learning. In short, he got kicked out. By then, he didn't even know whether his parents even remembered them. The last time Alevin ever saw them was on his first day of school- a single glimpse of their curious faces. It was then when his determination to get away from the Sea Kingdom sparked.
Hometown - He had the pleasure of growing up in what was considered the servant slums- to the royalty, anyway. Then the system of underwater caves that were his school. After reaching adulthood, though, they travelled to all over Pyrrhia and Pantala, but his current home was a small, remote island that dragons would pass in the Trans Pyrrhia Highway but wouldn't land on.
Significant events -
- Alevin was only one when he saw his first death. It was of another dragonet in the hatchery, and the others just tutted, saying they were a runt and hardly fit to live anyway.
Influence on OC's life - He became extremely traumatised for the next two years, and whenever there was another death, everyone made sure not to tell Alevin, no matter how important it was.
-His transference to the boarding school at the age of four
Influence on OC's life - Alevin was incredibly confused at the supposed spontaneous decision, but soon got over it.
-A year after he got enrolled into the school, a letter from his parents was sent.
Influence on OC's life - He had to admit he was surprised, did his parents actually care for him? It was the last he ever heard of them, though.
-Finally reaching adulthood, he 'graduated' from the school, but stuck around for a year or more before setting off on the two decades' worth of travelling
Influence on OC's life - Alevin became one step closer to fully escaping his past life, and it also caused a slight change in his personality- the curiosity about the outside world was gone.
Family -
Biological Mother - Daphnia (Common water flea)
Relationship with her - If Alevin had to choose, he would've preferred Daphnia. She visited quite a lot during the first two years, a quick pat on the head, a warm smile, or sometimes even a quick snippet of the palace gossip.
Biological Father - Polyp (A small invertebrate that makes up a part of a coral)
Relationship with him - Alevin knew most of the facts about him from the dragons that look after the dragonets in the hatchery, but he had also seen Polyp before a few times when he passed the entrance of the hatchery. He had only ever talked to Alevin once, a quick good luck and handshake the day before he departed the palace for good.
Crushes (Oldest to most recent) - Aquaria (A single awkward talk-to in the school corridors that left Alevin gasping for air and Aquaria bursting into giggles), Mulga (Met in the Scorpion Den, they both had questions about each other and dated for a week during the time Alevin stayed), Eggar (He was stranded on Alevin's island and Alevin had a crush on him for the three months Eggar stayed there).
Health -
Mental health - Overcame the last traces of trauma from childhood, but still suffers slightly from loneliness during his time at the island
Physical health - Quite healthy for a hermit, still slightly underweight, SeaWing scales have been accustomed to the humidity and dryness and is covered in a layer of slime to prevent it from drying out for a few days
Fears - Losing the things he had worked so hard for (e.g. freedom, independence)
Quotes - "If you're going to waste my time, prepare for a tsunami," (Begrudgingly to Eggar after finding him)
"Look, if you're not going to get back, our visitors will be very displeased. They're so excited to meet you!" (To one of his frogs after it escaped)
Appearance - Might be considered shoddy-looking for a higher ranked SeaWing, but since he isn't, Alevin was thought to be 'below average' for a servant dragonet. Like his name, Alevin is small, with the palest blue for his scale colour, and yolky orange on his wing and web membranes. His eyes are like a hurricane's, deep blue with white swirling in the middle. Alevin's overall tone is slightly more pastel from the years it's spent under the sun. His features are pretty much rounded like a normal dragon from his tribe, but Alevin's face and legs have sharper points, showcasing that the place can still be unforgiving. His horns are actually purple, but from afar it looks obsidian black. Same applies for his claws.
