Autumn's p.o.v

The second day of school. 

I get up and grab a pair of black cargo pants and a hoodie. I don't bother grabbing a shirt I know I'm not gonna take the hoodie off so there is no point. 

I walk into the bathroom. Surprisingly this house has two bathrooms and three rooms, though it's a one story. I've always wondered what it would be like to have a perfect family.

I turn the water to warm and slowly step in.

The water falls down my body.

I remember some things from when I was little when everything was ok, but once Alec and I hit 10, that's when everything got really bad. 

I close my eyes and let the water run down my face.

"Mamma, can we go to Paris someday?" I ask.

"Yes My Love whatever you're heart desires." She smiles.

"Mamma, I want to go to Australia, they have kangaroos there." Alec says sitting in Mamma's lap. 

"You're still too young Liebe." She says holding his hand and rubbing circles on it.

"I'm 7!" He says.

"I know. You're getting so old!" She smiles.

I watch the interaction.

Then someone comes up from behind me and touches my shoulder.

I scream, very loudly.

Dad.

He picks me up.

"What's wrong Kleiner Engel?" He asks. 

Little Angel

"Du hast mir Angst gemacht." I say.

You scared me

I snap back to reality, I shampoo my hair. Then condition and while I wait for the conditioner I wash my body. 

I use mom's body wash. 

Honeysuckle and Lavender. 

I rinse my hair and my body.

The soap cascades down my body.

I turn off the water and grab a towel dry myself off then get dressed. 

I put on my glasses. 

I braid my hair, the black looks shiny.

I dyed my hair a year ago so did Alec, we both dyed our hair black.

I put on mascara and highlighter then grab my bag and head out the door everyone is already in the car listening to Post Malone.

Ace and Alec are singing together "I'VE BEEN FUCKING HOES AND POPPING PILLIES MAN I FEEL JUST LIKE A ROCKSTAR" 

I stare at the two for a second then get in the car.

Ace pulls out of the driveway and they sing for the rest of the car ride. 

Once we get to school I walk with Alec for a few til he goes to his friends. 

I go over to Millie, she talked to me yesterday and asked if we could be friends and I said yeah.

"Hi!" She says smiling.

"Hey." I say.

She's drawing on her i-Pad.

She is drawing a tree with flower blooming on it, she has put so much detail into it that it's low key concerning.

I sit down next to her.

When a boy comes up and sits with us.

"Arsio!" Millie says. 

I look between the two.

"Oh, My bad I didn't realize you two didn't know each other." She says. "This is Ari, he's my best friend." She smiles at him.

"You kinda left out a part." He says looking at her.

"I'm gay." He says smiling at me with perfectly white teeth.

"Fun." I say.

I have no problem with anyone that's bi, gay, lesbian. It may not be my cup of tea but it's okay, you love who you love. You can't change that.  

The first bell rings. 

"Bye guys." Ari says as he gets up and goes down the hall. 

I get up and say bye to Millie and head upstairs to class.

I sit next to Matteo.

The second bell rings.

"Good morning everyone, today we are gonna do partner work." Mr. Johnston says.

Great I know no one in this class. 

"I will give you you're partners." He says.

I nod.

He pairs up everyone, then he finally reaches me. "Autumn you and Matteo will be partners." He says and gives me a paper.

Great I get to be with the kid that looks like he's gonna shoot up the school.

I move my chair next to his desk and look at him.

"So..." I say trying to start a conversation. 

He keeps drawing on the desk.

"Matteo?" I say

He looks up at me. 

I am mesmerized by his eyes. 

They are green with flakes of gold in them. Is that even humanly possible?

"So, do you wanna do the talking or the editing?" I ask.

"I'll do the editing." He says. His voice is deep. 

I nod. 

Then I start writing down what we should probably do for the project.

I look up every now and then. 

He doesn't look at me once.
